“Crime Guns” -- D.C.’s MPD Under an ATF Cloud
Some reckonings are a long time coming. The District of Columbia’s irrational hostility to all things gun-related and to legitimate, licensed retail gun dealers in particular, has reportedly culminated with the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) scrutinizing the D.C. police department under a program aimed at suspected “bad apple” gun dealers.
The 97Percent Lie
The newest kid on the block in the gun-ban movement is a group calling itself 97Percent, which claims it has “a deep commitment to promoting responsible gun ownership and enhancing public safety.”

Louisiana: "Gun Free Zone" Bill Eligible for a Committee Hearing - Take Action Now!
Last week, Senator Kirk Talbot (R-10) introduced Senate Bill 419, gun control legislation that creates "gun-free zones" that are off limits to lawful concealed carriers unless they possess a concealed carry permit. Yesterday, SB 419 was referred to the Senate Local and Municipal Affairs Committee where it is expected to be scheduled for a committee hearing as early as next week. On Tuesday, April 2nd, House Bill 389, the Second Amendment Financial Privacy Act, was introduced in the House. Representative Shane Stringer (R-102), an NRA Defender of Freedom Award recipient, is the lead sponsor of the bill.
Minnesota: Legislation Banning Certain Firearm Triggers Scheduled for Committee Hearing
On March 21st, House File 2609 was amended in committee and added language that bans certain firearm triggers. The bill has been scheduled for a hearing in the House Public Safety and Finance and Policy Committee on Thursday April 4th at 10:30 am.

Minnesota: Anti-Second Amendment Bills Scheduled to be Heard in Senate Committee
Tomorrow at 9 am, Senate File 606 and Senate File 4312 will be heard in the Senate Judiciary and Public Safety Committee. These bills would penalize gun owners for failing to report a lost or stolen firearm and impose a one-size fits all firearm storage requirement.

South Dakota: Pro Second Amendment Legislation Signed by Governor Noem
Yesterday, Governor Noem signed Senate Bill 203, legislation that would allow individuals with enhanced concealed carry permits and with permission from the school principal, to carry on public school grounds. Additionally, on March 5th, the governor signed House Bill 1228, which will allow hunters to wear fluorescent pink as an alternative to orange, providing them with additional choices in the field. The NRA would like to thank Governor Kristi Noem and members of the South Dakota legislature for their continued support of our Second Amendment rights and hunting heritage.
