Cheap 9mm Ammo For Black Friday

Fri, 11/26/2021 - 08:30

If you’re looking to score some ammo this Black Friday, CheapAmmo.com invited Weapon Blog readers in on a special 9mm Luger flash sale. Starting at 10 a.m. (Eastern Time) they will have American-made, brass-cased rounds priced below cost. Due to manufacturer rules and the cheap price, they can’t say who made the ammo but can disclose it’s American-made, full metal jacket, 115 grain, and brass-cased by a major manufacturer. They’ve told me it’s one of Winchester, Federal, or Blazer Brass.)

The bulk 1,000 round cases will appear for sale on their 9mm ammo page starting at 10 a.m. this morning. They have a couple pallets worth but the guys at Cheap Ammo expect to sell out pretty quickly. So, if you miss out on today’s they are making more available Monday morning for Cyber Monday.

DOJ Seeking Additional Time On Arm Brace Ruling

Wed, 09/22/2021 - 12:39

Nine months after the Second Amendment Foundation sued the Department of Justice and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in federal court over ATF’s flip on how it regulates stabilizing braces on pistols, the DOJ and SAF jointly asked for a continuation of a stay in the legal action to allow processing of more than 211,000 public comments on a proposed rule on “Factoring Criteria for Firearms with Attached Stabilizing Braces.”

The process is expected to require more than four months.

According to a Joint Status Report filed with the court, it will take more than 120 days for the DOJ to process all the responses. All parties agreed to the delay, according to SAF and have requested that they be allowed to file another Joint Status Report on or before Jan. 19, 2022.

Chimpan Out As ATF Head Nominee

Thu, 09/09/2021 - 12:23

The White House will withdraw its nomination of David Chipman to head up the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.

The nominee, a former special agent at ATF and current gun control lobbyist, was scrutinized immediately upon his nomination for his publicly anti-firearm positions. Moderate Democrat Senators in the evenly-split chamber signaled to the Biden administration that they were not fans of the choice and it was unclear whether Chipman would have made it through a confirmation vote.

That doesn’t mean he probably won’t still be giving advice and guidance on direction… Just not in the top chair.

Ammo Prices, Explained

Mon, 08/16/2021 - 09:04

With the COVID-19 pandemic and record-high firearm sales in the United States, ammunition is in short supply, impacting the rising cost of ammunition.

Despite manufacturers saying they are producing as much ammunition as possible, many gun store shelves remain empty and prices keep rising. As a result of the pandemic, social unrest, and a rise in violent crime, millions have purchased guns for protection or taken up shooting for recreational purposes. If we’re going to understand the ammo shortage, we should start by understanding how ammunition is distributed and sold.

Danger: H.R. 4953

Tue, 08/10/2021 - 12:41

The biggest issue with there being no press release is there’s also no proposed bill text. Some of the powers that be will include proposed bill texts in their announcements of their next great achievement. I don’t like to report on things unless I have something solid to stand on, but in this instance I think the subject is important enough to bring up and to make everyone aware of it (incoming fire!). I feel the title of the bill speaks for itself:

To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to subject to the requirements of the National Firearms Act any semiautomatic rifle that has the capacity to accept a detachable magazine.

ATF Confliction

Mon, 08/02/2021 - 10:30

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) is sending letters to Federal Firearms Licensees (FFL) in states that have passed bills protecting the Second Amendment demanding that the FFLs do NOT follow state laws. The ATF, at the same time, sent letters to FFLs telling them to FOLLOW state laws in states that have passed laws that have weakened the Second Amendment.

On A List With Friends

Thu, 07/29/2021 - 15:24

Do you believe “the US Government is purposely exceeding its Constitutional authority?”

Do you “oppose many federal and state laws and regulations, particularly those related to firearms ownership?”

Would you ever consider “tak[ing] overt steps to violently resist or facilitate the overthrow of the US Government [if it were] trying to establish a totalitarian regime?”

If you answered yes to one or more of these questions, then you’re probably in Big Tech’s database under the new category: “far-right militia.”

The database is run by the Global Internet Forum to Counter Terrorism, which was founded “under pressure from U.S. and European governments” by YouTube, Twitter, Microsoft, and Facebook and includes over a dozen other tech giants.

UK Gun Owner Database Hacked

Fri, 07/23/2021 - 09:01

Criminals have hacked into a Gumtree-style website used for buying and selling firearms, making off with a 111,000-entry database containing partial information from a CRM product used by gun shops across the UK.

The Guntrader breach earlier this week saw the theft of a SQL database powering both the Guntrader.uk buy-and-sell website and its electronic gun shop register product, comprising about 111,000 users and dating between 2016 and 17 July this year.

The database contains names, mobile phone numbers, email addresses, user geolocation data, and more including bcrypt-hashed passwords. It is a severe breach of privacy not only for Guntrader but for its users: members of the UK’s licensed firearms community.

5th Rule

Fri, 07/16/2021 - 11:17

I’m not above telling stories on myself, especially the shocking moments. These glimpses into everyday life keep me humble and remind me and those that lend an ear. I screwed up this past weekend that prompted many moments of reflection since the incident. It also pressed the debate, should there be a fifth rule of firearm safety?

Kevin Jarnagin talks about a recent experience on the range, and it is well worth the read.
