Japanese Gun Disarming Technique

Thu, 04/16/2015 - 05:00

I haven’t taken a disarming course, but I am dubious to the effectiveness of this Sensei’s method. He should have had his students armed with airsoft guns. Then let them shoot him to teach him the importance of being expeditious.

A Few Reasons I Like The Kalashnikov Better Than The AR-15

Thu, 04/16/2015 - 04:00

I’ve written a lot about the AR-15 and M1 Garand rifles, and after a time I will have written nearly as much about the EM-2, M14, and FAL. One rifle, though, hasn’t been the subject of very much of my writing, in part because reliable historical information on it is difficult to acquire in the […]

Wed, 04/15/2015 - 12:01

The list of abuses that you can do to an AK just seems to never end. (Mattv2099 goes into detail in that regard) But, Taofledermaus shows how you can get an AK running without its main recoil spring. Turns out all you need is a few rubber bands connected from the front sight tower to the […]

I got a chance today to go hands-on with the Signal 9 Defense Reliant at the NRA annual meetings in Nashville.  The purpose of the firearm, according to its designer, was safety and ease of use.  From Signal 9’s website: “The Reliant is specifically designed for concealed carry, combining the reliability of a revolver with […]

Midway Gunsmithing: How to Jewel A Bolt Carrier

Wed, 04/15/2015 - 09:09

Larry Potterfield and his gang at Midway just get to have all the fun. In this video, he showcases how to jewel a bolt for a bolt-action (or really anything) rifle. While the video showcases everything in super-speed and does not showcase the sweat and time, it has a solid break-down of the technique. The […]

Little Girl Rides A Belt Fed Machine Gun

Wed, 04/15/2015 - 08:34

This little girl is firing a belt fed machine gun and gets pushed back a little bit. Other than the lack of eye and ear protection it seems rather safe. Unlike other mishaps with young children operating automatic weapons, the weight of this machine gun keeps it pointed down range. Can anyone identify what language […]

Tue, 04/14/2015 - 15:30

Ever wanted a fully automatic 12 gauge shotgun, with no recoil and that can be fired one handed? The Guns Of John Pedersen At RIA

Tue, 04/14/2015 - 15:05

My favorite firearms designer of all time is James Paris Lee, because of his sheer inventiveness and forward-thinking edge that was still grounded in what was practical at the time. My second-favorite firearms designer is David Marshall Williams, because he was totally mad, with a bio that reads like it was ripped straight from a film script […]
