5 Gun Options For Safely Carrying AIWB

Mon, 01/04/2016 - 19:17

Appendix carry has been undergoing a renaissance in the last few years, but the biggest outstanding safety concern has been holstering a loaded gun in a way that, were it to go off, would put a bullet in your leg. One concern for reholstering is that, under stress, a novice AIWB user will forget to …

Be formless, my friend

Fri, 01/01/2016 - 11:32

Our recent podcast about people shooting IDPA matches with guns they don’t actually carry brought out a strong stripe of IDPA shooters who clearly are not in it to practice with their carry guns, but instead to win. Just flat out win. Not CCP, not BUG, high overall. That’s a fine goal (although winning matches …

What’s the deal with slide-ride red dot sights?

Thu, 12/31/2015 - 23:02

Richard sends in a question about adding a slide-ride red dot to a pistol that will be used for home defense, and maybe some competition.

We haven’t used them much, but we’re definitely intrigued.

Why Don’t More People Shoot IDPA with CCW Guns?

Wed, 12/30/2015 - 23:02

Mike in NC sends in today’s question asking us why more people don’t shoot IDPA with their actual CCW guns?

We’ve got a couple ideas:

  1. Most people don’t actually carry much.
  2. The people who do carry, carry little teeny guns that they don’t shoot well.
  3. People like to be competitive, so they buy a competition gun, even if they say they’re there for CCW practice.

If you’d like to send us a question, go here.

Should I Reload for my Glock? Will it Kaboom?

Tue, 12/29/2015 - 23:02

Today’s Q&A voicemail comes in from Chad in Georgia. He’s heard on the internet that using reloads in Glocks can be a problem because they have unsupported chambers that can lead to the infamous Glock “kaboom:”.

If you’d like to send us a question, go here.

Lasers on CCW Guns?

Mon, 12/28/2015 - 23:02

Davie sends in a voicemail for today’s Q&A podcast asking about putting lasers on CCW guns. Neither of us run them, but I’ve played with them a little (a VERY little) and I’m not really a fan.

J-Clips, C-Clips, What’s the Deal With All the Clips?

Wed, 12/16/2015 - 23:02

Chris from Action Shooting Radio calls in today’s voicemail for the Q&A podcast. He’s in Canada where he isn’t able to get concealed carry experience, however he might be getting some in the future…

Anyways, he’s asking about J-clips and C-clips for concealed carry holsters. Basically, they both suck, the C-clips tend to suck less.

What’s Your Price-Per-Round for Reloads?

Tue, 12/15/2015 - 20:00

Davie in Alberquerque sends in today’s voicemail asking about our price per round is for reloading. As it happens, I’m loading for the cheapest I’ve loaded ever right now, at about 9.7 cents a round with a 125gr Blue Bullet, Bullseye powder, and some S&B primers that I got at Cabelas on Black Friday.

Ben’s loading pretty cheap too, at 11.3 cents a round using 147gr Blue Bullets, Clay Dot powder, and some primers he bought from some guy somewhere.

If you’d like to send us a voicemail, here’s how to do it.
