Glock 43 in an Alien gear holster on a 5.11 belt. As a bigger guy, I wanted comfort and a small package to reduce printing. The Alien gear holster gave me the carry comfort I needed and still allowed me to tuck in my shirt. Now that I’m thinning out, I’m looking for an all kydex holster that will fit the bill. And I’ve actually been looking at Vedder holsters because they allow for conceal carry while still being able to tuck a shirt.

COMPARISON: The New GLOCK 48 vs The GLOCK 19

Tue, 01/08/2019 - 19:00

Unless you just crawled out from under a rock, I’m sure that you’ve heard of the new GLOCK 48 that will be available on January 21st. We’ll be trying it out at SHOT Show in less than 2 weeks but in the meantime, we wanted to share a great video with you that really highlights the differences between the two.

In a nutshell, The new G48 is basically a G19 in a single stack. Basically. Kinda.

Here’s the video, brought to you by the new awesome gun channel The Armorer’s Fix:

Are you planning to pick up the new GLOCK 48? Let us know in the comments below.

Glock 43 in a Silverback Gun Works Oozaru or a Gen4 Glock 19 in Silverback Gun Works Veil. I carry Glocka because they always go bang when I need them to, and never do when I don’t want them to. I shoot well with them, and they’re fairly inexpensive for the amount of reliability they offer.

Escaped Monkey Attacks Woman, Is Shot By Armed HVAC Repairman

Sat, 10/06/2018 - 13:39

SHALLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA — An exotic monkey escaped from a home and went on a rampage, scratching and biting a woman who was outside speaking with an HVAC repairman. The owner told police that the monkey was ‘an aggressive one’.

After attacking the woman, the monkey went to a neighbors home and started banging on a glass door. The repairman approached the monkey, and that’s when it started running towards him. That’s when he fired one shot from his Glock and killed it.

Police say the man has a concealed carry permit and will not be facing any charges.

The owner of the monkey is said to house many other exotic animals in the home, and has permits to go along with the ownership.

It’s not every day that we hear about a monkey rampage, but it seems to be the same as keeping a dog or any other animal that can be dangerous to the public. Properly securing them so that they are not able to escape is the responsibility of the owner, and it always will be.

This particular monkey doesn’t seem like it was ever meant to be caged, and it sounds like this would have played out in a bad way at some point.

How Many Holsters Do You Have?

Sun, 09/30/2018 - 11:34

I can’t go by my numbers because I review them. The number that I possess is… ridiculous.

In the real world, I’d probably end up with 2 ‘working’ holsters per firearm that I tend to carry.

That’s not a bad number, but would I have more that I’ve tried and didn’t like? I mean, how many holsters do you actually have, whether or not you use them?

So many people get trapped with a bunch of holsters that they’ll never use for one reason or another. Are you in this boat, or did you luck out on the first try or two and find a holster that works the way you want it?

Credit Where Credit Is Due: Chris Cuomo Did Something I Can Stand Behind

Thu, 06/28/2018 - 20:39

I’m in the beautiful Adirondacks in New York for a week, and was rocked today by the mass shooting that took place in Maryland where five people lost their lives.

I’ve been writing articles and watching the news in the background. While flipping through channels, I landed on CNN and Chris Cuomo. The second I hit the channel, Cuomo said something along the lines of;

I’m not going to give the suspect the time of day to even mention his name. It’s not worth it.

That’s not an exact quote, but you get the idea.

I’ve targeted the Cuomo brothers in the past due to their gun control stances and the relentless push for more laws, but I have to give credit where credit is due.

Whoever it is, it shouldn’t matter. If more media picked up this practice of not mentioning the suspect in these mass shootings, we’d see a drop in them. Guaranteed.

*WATCH* Colion Noir vs Bill Mahar: They Talk Guns, And You Have To Watch It

Sat, 06/23/2018 - 11:27

If you’re a gun guy or gal, then you are probably familiar with Colion Noir. The Gun-YouTuber-Guru-Turned-NRA-TV-Guru had the opportunity to sit down with Bill Maher on his HBO show ‘Real Time with Bill Maher’.

The show aired a few nights ago, and we couldn’t be more proud of Noir and his interaction with Maher. It was a great discussion, and it’s people like Noir that the gun industry needs out in front.

*WATCH* GLOCK 17 vs. HI-POINT C9

Wed, 06/13/2018 - 17:26

When it comes to pistols, Hi-Point gets a relatively bad rap in the industry. So to take things to more of an extreme, one of the guys at TFB decided to do a head-to-head challenge with the Hi-Point C9 and the GLOCK 17.

The results may surprise you.

In this episode of TFBTV, James compares the $400-$500 Glock 17 to the lowly $100-$150 Hi-Point C9 (seriously). Both of these are black, semiautomatic handguns chambered in 9mm, but that’s about where the similarities end. It’s safe to assume that the much more expensive Glock is “better” than the inexpensive Hi-Point, but how much better? $400 better? Which is the better bargain? What does the Glock do that the Hi-Point can’t? All of those questions and more are tackled by James today on TFBTV.

Denver’s Ban On Bump Stocks: The Numbers Are In On How Many Were Turned In

Wed, 05/30/2018 - 14:21

DENVER, COLORADO — In January, Denver officials banned the use and possession of bump stocks after the Las Vegas shooting. Since then, the number of bump stocks handed over to authorities has been released.

Zero.

The ban, which was largely regarded as symbolic, also included magazines that can hold more than 15 rounds. Whether or not any of those have been turned in remains unknown, but we can say that bump stocks are still with their rightful owners.

DPD’s message to gun owners in February was more of a suggestion than an order: “If Denver residents are in possession of a bump stock, and would like to turn-in their bump stock to the Denver Police Department, they can do so at any Denver Police Station.”

Sometimes, things just don’t work out.

Dad Shoots Daughter’s Ex As He Tries Breaking Into Their Home

Mon, 05/14/2018 - 15:15

SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA — An armed father shot his daughter’s ex-boyfriend when he tried crawling into a window of their home.

Who knows that would have happened if this father weren’t armed, but he was, and the threat was taken care of. Local media reports;

The incident occurred at the 1600 block of W. McFadden. The SAPD responded after they got a call about domestic violence. However the police arrived before the ex-boyfriend did. So they left.

But the ex-boyfriend, identified as Robert White, 38, of Garden Grove, came back to the home later and that is when the dad shot and wounded him.

White was taken to the hospital and treated for his injuries. An investigation continues.

This is yet another story that shows the law-abiding citizen defending themselves and others against real threats that show up in our crazy world.

Remember while at home, that it’s just as important to stay armed as it is if you’re out and about. Just because you’re home does not mean that crime won’t and can’t touch you.

Happy Mother’s Day

Sun, 05/13/2018 - 11:00

We want to extend a warm Mother’s Day message for all the moms out there!

It’s a day to appreciate the most important women in our lives, and of course you all do that every day of the year anyway. Right?

It’s also a great day to take mom to the range and shoot your favorite guns.

It’s also a great day to talk to mom about getting her concealed carry permit if she doesn’t already have it. We want moms everywhere to be safe and ready to defend themselves.

Do you think that anyone is going to mess with the mom in the above video? We didn’t think so!
