A 1911 that can be fun at the range, tolerate a bit of abuse, yet still let us celebrate the aesthetics, history, and shooting experience of the 1911.

Las Vegas Home Intruder Threatens to ‘Kill You All’; You Know What Happens Next
Cops say a lunatic broke into a west Las Vegas home after shouting, “Let me in! I will kill you all!” at 5:30 in the morning last weekend. Unfortunately for David Valle, 28, the homeowner was also a gun owner. And when Mr. Valle tried to force his way in through a bedroom door where the family had adopted the ensconced defender position, the homeowner shot him.
The round hit him in the knee and he screamed.

The Glock Gen 3 patents have expired, and as a result we’ve seen plenty of what people are calling “clones” out there. Personally I don’t see them as clones, rather companies taking advantage of the leg work being already done. It’s like being gifted a house that is stick-built only. You can now spend your time and money deciding how it gets finished. What would your house be like if your cost was only to finish it?

Nude Cat Burglar Attacks…and It Wasn’t Even in Florida
Crazy things happen everywhere, but they seem to happen more often and more crazily in Florida (though, dare I say we’ve all felt a reduction under Gov DeSantis’ leadership?). When you hear of a homeowner waking up to find a naked man trying to grab the resident’s cat (we did the dad joke in the headline; that’s all you get!), your thoughts naturally turn to the Sunshine State. Well, ours do at least.
Color us surprised, then, when we learned that this home invasion and armed response took place in Texas.

Obscure Object of Desire: B&T P26
I am an unapologetic B&T Fanboy. They make some of the highest quality firearms on the market. Unfortunately they also don’t make (or at least don’t import) some of the best firearms you cant buy such as the P26.
B&T only imported 400 of the P26 in late 2015. So even though the P26 is more or less a well built TEC-9, used examples trade for over $3,000 and are extremely hard to find.

Good, Bad, and Funny Comments on ‘6 Ways Good Guys Screw Up in Self-Defense Situations’
Last week, I wrote a story on six ways good guys can screw up a self-defense use of force incident. It sparked a lot of rather vigorous comments and a post/link from Law Professor Glenn Reynolds at Instapundit, which I take as a huge compliment that a nationally known law professor would post my work for another million people to see. My goal, along with my fellow instructors, remains to help good people not get themselves caught up in the criminal justice system in the aftermath of an otherwise righteous use of force.

DISPARITY OF FORCE: 5’6″ 140-lb CCW Holder Cleared In Triple Shooting After Group Attack in Bucks County, PA
Against unarmed adversaries, a defender can resort to deadly force if a disparity of force exists. And a young auto mechanic with a concealed carry license did just that in Bucks County, PA days ago. The prosecutor there just cleared him of wrongdoing, citing the number of attackers, their size, and other disparity issues.
It all began when Liam Hughes, 21, an Army reservist for three and a half years with a concealed carry license left a bar in Southampton, PA with a friend.
Parson: We Don’t Need More Gun Laws, We Need More Mental Health Resources
Missouri is perceived by some to have some of the most lax gun laws in the country. Gov. Mike Parson said more mental health resources are needed, not more gun laws.
“It’s just really unfortunate that everyone wants to go to the political point of the guns when you have a tragedy like this,” Parson said. …

Using force to protect third-parties poses all manner of dangers to a good guy with a gun. Sometimes though, it’s clear to even most low-information types that force is justified against an attacker of a third party.
That’s exactly what happened outside a Largo, Florida Publix supermarket. A man stomped his pregnant girlfriend’s head and upper body after punching her in the face repeatedly.
A good guy with a gun and a concealed carry license saw the attack in progress and intervened.

The debate between U.S. Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.) and her challenger Republican Tiffany Smiley revealed to voters the stark differences between the two who are vying to represent Washington voters in the U.S. Senate. Sen. Murray showed that she would lead the effort to rubber stamp President Joe Biden’s gun control wishes while Smiley would stand for Americans’ Constitutional rights.
For Sen. Murray, her gun control platform is based on two tries and a lie.
