Tennessee Bail Bondsmen Go Bananas

Tue, 11/25/2014 - 19:00

“Two bail bondsmen terrorized seven children and their mother inside a suburban Atlanta home after the woman’s husband failed to show up for traffic court in a different state,” nydailynews.com reports. “The armed bounty hunters kicked in the door of the Lawrenceville home and threatened to shoot one of the children.” A family member caught some of the action on cellphone camera (in the video above). Under certain circumstances, bounty hunters can kick in a door to grab their prey. Holding a family hostage at gunpoint? Not so much. Bail bondsmen Kevin Roberson and Khalil Abdullah are now in jail. Bail unknown.

Question of the Day: What’s Your Number One Tip for New Shooters?

Tue, 11/25/2014 - 12:00

Kirsten Joy Weiss’ instructional video on proper trigger finger placement is spot on. Of course. Simply by moving your trigger finger to the proper place on the ballistic go-pedal (just before the distal joint) can yield a 50 percent increase in accuracy. When I’m training newbies it’s all about the stance. Getting a new shooter to bend their knees and stick their ass out just about eliminates recoil-related accuracy issues. It also teaches the shooter to get into the groove; their first, instinctive reaction to a self-defense situation should be to hunker down. What’s your number one tip for new shooters?

University City, MO Police Officer Shot

Tue, 11/25/2014 - 00:29

As of 12:30 pm CST the situation in Ferguson and surrounding areas remains lawless. There are reports that the Delwood police station is in danger from arsonists, who’ve already set a car on fire in the parking lot. Meanwhile ktvi.com reports that “St. Louis County police have confirmed that a University City police officer was shot around 11:45 pm near Canton Avenue and Lamb Avenue. The officer has been transported to the hospital. No word on the condition of the officer. Police are looking for  a suspect.” Good luck with that.

Ferguson Police, Fire Department Overwhelmed By Looting, Fires

Mon, 11/24/2014 - 23:38

“No available cars,” the police dispatcher tells a police unit attempting to deal with [another outbreak of] looters. Sam’s Meat Market, a self storage facility and other buildings are burning to the ground without any fire department intervention (as is the protocol during a riot). There are reports of a gunman in the bed of a pickup truck firing off rounds and “gunmen in the hot zone with assault rifles.” Store owners are calling police as cars mass for attacks of looting. It’s only a question of time before the National Guard are deployed. One hopes.

Police Report Armed Protestors Setting Fires in Ferguson. Looting Spreading.

Mon, 11/24/2014 - 23:04

The police scanner reveals that Ferguson police are withdrawing from entire parts of the city amid reports that some 50 armed protestors (anarchists?) are setting fires throughout the town (including Red’s Barbecue). Toy R Us is being looted, with over one hundred cars in the parking lot. The police are retreating (11:09 pm CST). One hundred looters in Walgreens are beginning to scatter. “All stores on Florissant Street west of Chambers are on fire.”
