Off Duty Cop Shoots Man During Stabbing When She Hears Screams Across the Street

Sun, 04/06/2014 - 16:34

Photo credit: The Dallas Morning News

This off-duty police officer was in the right place at the right time.  And even though calling 911 would have never saved the man’s life who was being stabbed, it’s a good thing this off-duty cop was carrying a gun.

Sgt. Jackie Moore has been on the force for 15 years working with the Dallas Police Department.   She was off-duty and had just parked her car in a parking lot just before 10am when she heard a woman screaming across the street.

A few minutes before that moment Vincent Cortez, 45,  was at work and noticed a man trespassing on the company’s property.  The intruder had somehow jumped the fence.

Chicago Man with Concealed Carry Permit Fends off Two Armed Attackers in Hoodies

Sat, 04/05/2014 - 21:48

It wasn’t long ago that it would have been illegal for this Chicago man to carry a concealed weapon and protect himself against 2 attackers outside his home.   Chicago police have determined that the concealed carry weapons permit holder used his gun in self-defense.

The 53-year-old South Austin man had a valid CCW permit and shot at 2 men how approached him outside of his home.

At 2:40 in the morning the man was walking from his garage to the front of his house when 2 males in hoodies accosted him.   The men appeared in the gangway between the man’s home and the neighbors home when one of the men pulled out a handgun from his waistband.

The gunman pointed the gun at the homeowner, and probably forgot that Illinois is a concealed carry state now and actually allows it’s citizens to carry firearms, even though there’s a ton of red tape to do so.

So the citizen that would have once been unarmed and at the mercy of the gunman was able to fight back.  The man drew his own gun and fired several shots at the 2 men in hoodies and the men f

[VIDEO] CT Student Suspended and Charged with Harassment After Questioning Governor on Gun Control

Sat, 04/05/2014 - 12:49

After watching the video a few times it’s hard to believe this student was actually suspended and charged with harassment for what seemed like pretty innocuous behavior.  But this is Connecticut, the so called “constitution state” and anything can happen there.  Watch video of the incident below.

Nicholas Saucier, a college student at Asnuntuck Community College videoed a conversation about recent gun control legislation that passed in Connecticut and that put him out of a job after investing his life savings into an ammunition company.  Democratic Gov. Dannel Malloy was at the school as part of an ongoing conference.

At the end of the conversation as the Governor was getting in his car Saucier called the governor a “snake”.  Looks like this was enough to get one slapped with a harassment charge and a suspension from school.

The conversation actually occurred back in October of 2013, but Saucier was not allowed to show the video at his hearing, pretty much ensuring that it would not

Australian Gangs Making DIY Machine Guns Despite Ban on “Assault Weapons”

Sat, 04/05/2014 - 11:29

It has been said that after every horrific tragedy the first step people want to take is to punish the people that didn’t do it.  So it has been in Australia when after a 1996 mass shooting the government went no to ban semi-automatic firearms to keep law abiding citizens from owning them.

Many farmers and people who lived in rural areas had used semi-automatic rifles all their lives and never hurt anyone.  It was a part of their way of life and how they kept their families safe when the police were 30 minutes to an hour away.  These were not “assault weapons” to them, but simple rifles that were NOT military grade.

John Howard, Australia’s Prime Minister at the time, said this about his decisions to ban guns:

NRA Accepts Bob Costas’s Bet on Defensive Gun Uses

Fri, 04/04/2014 - 22:39

On Wednesday Bob Costas decided to flaunt his anti-gun views by challenging any pro gun supporters to a little wager.   NRA-ILA Executive Director Chris W. Cox decided to accept this bet on Friday.

So here is the bet.  Costas has long been an outspoken critic of gun ownership, especially with athletes.   He bet that if someone were to track defensive gun uses versus gun related violent incidents within athletic circles that the negative stories would out number the positive.

Here are the exact words Costas used when talking with Late Night host Seth Myers,

“Here’s what I would say to anybody who any time they hear the word guns automatically goes off, like, ‘Oh, they’re going to repeal the Second Amendment,’” Costas said. “Let’s make a bet, you and me. Let’s say over the next five years we’ll do a Google search. We’ll have an independent party monitor it. You keep track of how many good and constructive things are associated with athletes having a gun, and I’ll keep track of all the tragedies and criminality and folly. And let’

After Illinois Gets Concealed Carry Chicago Sees Drop in Murder Totals

Fri, 04/04/2014 - 14:44

Don’t look for this news to be plastered all over the major media outlets.   They are too busy reporting on the Fort Hood shootings and doing everything they can to blame gun owners for what happened.

When concealed carry was introduced in Illinois last year it was the last state in the US to finally make it legal for gun owners to carry their concealed weapons.  But anti-gunners everywhere cried out that it would only increase the murder rate and gun violence would shoot through the roof.  Well, once again, the anti-gun activists were wrong.

The numbers have shown a sharp decline in murders in Chicago since concealed carry was brought to Illinois.

The Sun Times Media Wire had to admit this “coincidence” that while concealed carry is in eff

Oklahoma Homeowner in Wheelchair Shoots at Armed Intruder

Fri, 04/04/2014 - 12:32

When an armed intruder jumped a fence in Oklahoma little did he know that the wheelchair bound  homeowner would be armed and ready to defend his life and property.

Steven Ferguson is in a wheelchair because of a motorcycle accident when he was a teenager.  But he has a modified holster on his wheelchair that allows him to carry his firearm.

The intruder hoped over the fence of Ferguson’s property and looked into the sunroom where Ferguson was at the time.  That’s when the homeowner said he saw the intruder reaching for his handgun.

But Ferguson’s modified holster allowed him to draw his gun quickly, and he was able to draw his handgun first and fire a shot at the armed intr

Piers Morgan Makes Irrational Tweet After Fort Hood Shooting; We Tear it Apart

Fri, 04/04/2014 - 11:00

Yes, I know.  This guy just won’t go away.  But I guess in order for Piers Morgan to stay relevant he has to make outrageous comments like the tweet he made after the Fort Hood shooting on Wednesday.

The tweet really shows how irrational his argument is and how ignorant of the facts he is as well.

‘If only there’d been a good guy with a gun…’ – such crap. This #FortHood soldier/shooter WAS a good guy. Until he turned bad, with a gun.

— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) April 3, 2014

Ok, first of all, does Morgan r

[VIDEO] Fort Hood Survivor Says “More Guns Would Have Prevented Shootings”

Thu, 04/03/2014 - 20:38

In this video the msnbc reporter asks a survivor from the 2009 Fort Hood shootings if more guns or less guns was the answer to the Fort Hood shootings on Wednesday.  Retired Sgt. Alonzo Lunsford responded that more guns was the answer.

Lunsford was shot 7 times in the 2009 Fort Hood shootings and realizes that had the soldiers at the base been armed they would have been able to stop the shooter before he could kill 3 and wound 16 on Wednesday.

Lunsford also points out in the interview that as soon as the military police with guns showed up the shooter quickly stopped shooting others and ended his own life.  It was good guys with guns that ended the killing spree, so why not stop all future shootings by allowing the soldiers to carry their own firearms?  Oh but that’s too logical for our anti-gun friends to understand.

Milwaukee Sheriff Gives Unforgettable Speech for Gun Rights

Thu, 04/03/2014 - 14:33

Photo from Youtube, USCCA

We need sheriffs like this in EVERY county in the U.S.  Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke gave an unforgettable and passionate speech for gun rights that the anti-gun movement absolutely hates.

The speech took place at a USCCA Open House Event held in West Bend, Wisconsin.   Clarke is known for his ads and public service announcements that advocate for citizens to arm themselves and protect themselves since the police cannot be everywhere at once.  He stresses he does not want a police state.  He simply wants people to be able to exercise their 2nd amendment rights when secon

The “Gun Free Zone”: Is it Time to Put an End to Gun Restrictions on Military Bases?

Thu, 04/03/2014 - 13:11

.

Strict gun regulations did not stop the gunman from going on a shooting spree, killing 3 and wounding at least 16 at Fort Hood yesterday.  A veritable “gun free zone” did not stop a crazed shooter from taking innocent lives.

But what these strict gun regulations did do was stop these brave soldiers from being able to defend themselves.  And that’s what gun laws do.  They stop the law abiding from their God-given right to defend themselves while the criminals and mentally unstable ignore the laws and take innocent lives.

Army officials have confirmed that the shooter used an unregistered gun at Fort Hood.  All guns are supposed to be registered with the base with the proper documentation being shown at the gate, and even then most are not able to get the proper clearance to carry guns on base.

Instead of relying on military police to arr

[VIDEO] Texas Man Open Carrying Rifle is Stopped by Police, Told He Can Go, and Then Gets Hit with Taser

Thu, 04/03/2014 - 11:35

After being told he is free to go, Henry Vichique, 19, probably thought the whole incident would be over soon, but just a couple minutes later he was getting hit with a taser and was detained for 5 hours.

The San Antonio man was walking near his home while open carrying his rifle.  Under Texas law this is perfectly legal.  But according to police who showed up on the scene it was against a local ordinance to carry a rifle within the city limits.

The whole incident was captured on video as police ordered Vichique to the ground to which he replies, “I’m not doing anything wrong, sir.”

One of the officers claimed that he was getting complaints that Vichique was pointing his gun at people.  Vichique denied he was pointing his gun at anybody but was safely carrying it on his walk.

Vichique explained that the rifle he was carrying was loaded and he carried on a fairly cordial conversation with one of the officers who told him,

“You are not under arrest. You are free to go,” the cop sa

Fort Hood Shooter Kills 3 and Himself with Unregistered Gun

Wed, 04/02/2014 - 22:26

Details are still sketchy from an active shooter situation that took place today at Fort Hood.  But again we have a tragic shooting in a place where guns are strictly regulated.  We have just discovered from an interview with a General at the base that the shooter used an unregistered gun to carry out these lethal attacks.

Gun rules were tightened after the 2009 shootings at Fort Hood in which Major Nidal Hassan killed 13 and wounded 32 after he had become a radical Muslim.  These new rules required both soldiers and civilians to register their weapons and declare them at the gate.   So each gun would have to be declared and a registration piece of paper would have to be shown.

The shooter in this case used an unregistered .45 Smith & Wesson and had already broken the rules by just entering the base with his weapon.

At least 4 are dead, including the shooter, and 14 are injured after a man dressed in full soldier uniform began shooting at the Ford Hood military base.   So far sources are saying that the incident was not related to terrorism and was a “soldi

[VIDEO] Police Seize Fake Cut Out Rifle at NY Rally Against SAFE Act

Wed, 04/02/2014 - 16:29

We are told again and again by the anti-gunners that no one is really talking about confiscating firearms.  But in this video a protestor against the New York SAFE Act can’t even keep his fake plastic rifle or cardboard rifle from being confiscated.

At a pro-gun rally in Albany,  New York a speaker can be seen speaking out against oath breakers who took an oath to uphold the constitution and then break it with unconstitutional gun laws that protect no one.

If they will confiscate a fake plastic rifle in broad daylight do you really think they will not also go after real rifles when the time comes?

There are 37 things you will wish you had in the coming crisis.  Find out what this ex-military expert says you need to hoard now in this video.

Brady Center Revokes Anti-Gun Award to Piers Morgan Because “handgun sales skyrocketed”

Wed, 04/02/2014 - 15:31

Many have given the “Gun salesman of the year” award to President Obama, but Piers Morgan was definitely a close second.  And now even an anti-gun group is admitting that Piers Morgan is the very reason that gun sales have soared in the past couple years.

The Brady Center to Prevent Handgun Violence has just revoked an award that was given to Piers Morgan for his work in attempting to dismantle the 2nd amendment.

The Visionary Award was rescinded after 2 years of incredible sales for the firearm industry, and now the Brady Center president is speaking out against why they had to take the award away from Morgan.

“We thought Piers Morgan would be a worthy recipient of our Visionary Award given his fervent passion for gun control,” Brady Center President Dan Gross said of his decision to take the award back. “But in reality he had the opposite effect. Within two years of honori

West Virginia Sheriff Refuses to Release Gun Permit Names to Newspaper

Tue, 04/01/2014 - 21:18

A West Virginia Sheriff could be facing misdemeanor charges after he has refused to release the names of gun permit holders to 2 local newspaper companies.

Sheriff Patrick Butler has decided to defy the law after The Intelligencer and Wheeling News-Register filed a request for a list of names and information of concealed carry weapon permit holders.

Under West Virginia’s Freedom of Information Act, Sheriff Butler is bound the law to grant the request for the publicly available information.  But rather than allowing the newspapers to take these names and publish them — as other newspapers have done — he went to Facebook to explain why he refused to comply.

He wrote on a Facebook page,

$7 Million Wasted on NY SAFE Act Gun Control Bill for Database so Far

Tue, 04/01/2014 - 14:50

After the unconstitutional and extremely controversial gun control bill in NY was passed last year, over $27 million dollars was allocated for the creation of a database.  The so called “SAFE Act” required extra technology and a database to keep tabs on gun owners who are now being treated like common criminals.

So far at least $7 million has been spent on the database with not much to show for it.  This news has just come out after Assembly Ways and Means Chairman Denny Farrell, D-Manhattan was asked about the funds during a budget debate.

Assembly Republicans in New York also asked Farrell about the spending and the database that New York is creating.  The state is working on a database for background checks of ammunition purchases, but it is not yet operational.

So where did the $7M go?  Part of it was spent working on an “assault weapons” registration.  Yes, common semi-automatic rifles are now being considered “assault weapons” in NY and the state wants all those guns to be registered.  This will of cou

Oklahoma Woman Pleads for Help from Armed Neighbor Who Shoots and Kills Intruder

Tue, 04/01/2014 - 13:09

Dana Lewis was approached by 3 men last Saturday night at her property in Muskogee, Oklahoma.  The three crooks forced the woman into her own house and demanded her valuable possessions and cash.

But while the men were rummaging through her belongings, Lewis managed to escape and ran to her neighbor’s house for help.  Kyle Ford fortunately was at home and when Lewis told him what was going on next door he grabbed his semi-automatic pistol and headed for his neighbor’s house.

By this time the 3 robbers were standing on the woman’s porch.  Ford, with handgun in hand, demanded for the men to leave, but they refused.   Ford cocked his pistol and one of the men began walking towards Ford saying, “What are you going to do?”

The crook was only a foot away when Ford pulled the trigger and struck the man in the chest.   The three suspects then decided to flee the scene, including the man who had been shot.

But when police arrived on the scene they found the man who had been shot in a nearby alleyway.  He was t

The New Georgia Gun Bill that Anti-Gunners Hate Will Do More to Stop Crime

Mon, 03/31/2014 - 12:43

The governor of Georgia has a decision to make.    His state has passed a bill that provides gun owners with more constitutional rights to carry their guns in public places.  And while the anti-gun movement goes into complete hysteria over this bill, their reasons for being nervous are really not founded on common sense or facts.

Georgia awaits the signature of Governor Nathan Deal to sign the pro gun legislation that some gun grabbers are calling the “guns everywhere bill”.   The legislation allows for gun owners to carry their guns in bars, schools, restaurants, churches and airports.

The group started by anti-gun supporter Gabrielle Giffords called the bill the most extreme gun bill in America” and the “guns everywhere” legislation.  The NRA has called it the most comprehensive pro gun bill in recent state history.

After the Sandy Hook shooting in Connecticut some states went to work on pushing through an anti-gun agenda with the Sandy Hook victims as the backdrop.  But

[VIDEO] Piers Morgan Uses His Last Minutes on Air to Push Gun Control

Sat, 03/29/2014 - 19:00

It’s official.  Piers Morgan, one of the most ignorant, anti-gun proponents of all time is off the air.    As a last memo on his unpopular CNN show he took the time to insult gun owners and slam the US for even allowing guns in the hands of free citizens.

Watch the video below and the transcript as well if you just can’t stand to see Morgan talk.

Transcript:

I’d also like to thank you all for watching. Even those who implacably disagreed with me, or just found my funny accent annoying. Regular viewers will know that the issue of gun control has been a consistent and often very controversial part of this show.

And I want to say something more about that before I bow out.

I have lived and worked in America for much of the past decade, and it is a magnificent country. A land of true opportunity that affords anyone, even British chancers like me, the opportunity to live the American
