This K-9 and his handler in action are nothing short of spectacular (VIDEO)

Fri, 09/30/2016 - 10:40

With a one-word command or even just a hand movement, K-9 trainer Robert Zembrzuski has his dog, Milo, at his side. Well… sort of. Actually, in a rather unusual move, Milo positions himself in-between Zembrzuski’s legs – and keeps up with his handler’s every move. Zembrzuski explained that to have Milo trained in such a position is useful in close quarter situations. Equally impressive is the fact that Zembrzuski never once got tripped up.

MAC tests the Hi-Point C9 for reliability (VIDEO)

Thu, 09/29/2016 - 18:09

Tim with the Military Arms Channel responds to requests to run the Ohio hog leg: Hi-Point’s C9 9mm blowback pistol, through the grueling MAC Gauntlet Test.

Tim was surprised by the guns accuracy out of the box– it has a fixed barrel which helps a lot with that by design– then moved into the water and mud with the Zamak parabellum.

Gold Star mom asks Obama: Why not say ‘Islamic Terrorism’? (VIDEO)

Thu, 09/29/2016 - 11:59

A mother whose son died in Iraq challenged President Obama on why he refuses to link Islam with terror attacks.

Tina Houchins, a Gold Star Mom from Virginia, asked Obama if he believes that acts of terrorism are being done with religious motivations.

“If you do, why do you still refuse to use the term ‘Islamic terrorist?'” she asked.

Obama, taking questions at a CNN town hall focused on military and veteran’s issues, gave a six-minute-long answer, calling it a “sort of manufactured” issue.

Suspect may have attempted gun purchase hours before mall shooting (VIDEO)

Thu, 09/29/2016 - 11:40

The suspected Cascade Mall killer walked into an Island County gun store and tried to buy a large caliber handgun just two hours before the shootings that killed five people.

“He seemed off from the moment he walked in,” said gun store clerk Aaron Wilson.

Wilson says Arcan Cetin asked if the store “sells 45’s and stuff,” referring to the caliber of the weapon he wanted.

Cetin is accused of killing five people at Cascade Mall in Burlington Friday night around 7 p.m. using a .22 Ruger hunting rifle and 25-round ammunition magazine that he stole from his stepfather.

Yes, this is a working shotgun (VIDEO)

Wed, 09/28/2016 - 19:18

In further proof that gun control could never work, backyard DIY gun builder Royal Nonesuch crafted a “repeating” slam fire shotgun capable of holding 12 rounds.

With an aesthetic that would make a Kyber Pass gunsmith swoon, RN explains his slam fire pipe gun with overhead gravity fed hoppers (which prevent mounting any sights), the wire stock lasts one round.

Sure, it has some bugs and he has to resort to the occasional pliers extraction of spend hulls, but it kinda sorta works and nothing explodes but the targets.

This is not your average Red Ryder (VIDEO)

Mon, 09/26/2016 - 18:49

Speeding past the realm of .177 without looking back, the Sam Yang Dragon Claw is a .50-caliber big bore air rifle and it’s got some serious power.

A Pre-Charged Pneumatic (PCP) type rifle with two large reservoirs for 500 cc of compressed air, the single-shot Dragon Claw coughs up 230 ft-lbs. of muzzle energy– which is billed by the manufacturer as being enough to take out deer and feral hogs.

And, using 200-grain pills, the Demolition Ranch testing begins.

Man verbally attacked by protesters after hugging riot police (VIDEO)

Mon, 09/26/2016 - 10:36

In an effort to ease racial tensions, Ken Nwadike travels around the country to various hotspots to hand out hugs to protesters and police alike, but when he recently brought his tactics to Charlotte, North Carolina, he was immediately met with criticism and a volley of profanity-laced put-downs.

The S&W 500 makes one heck of a meat tenderizer (VIDEO)

Thu, 09/22/2016 - 18:56

Andrew with GY6Vids stacks the tugboat that is the S&W 500 wheelgun stoked with Hornady pills against a pair of whole pork shoulders.

While the likelihood of being attacked in the wild by a pair of random pork shoulders without the hog attached may be slim (if not, hey, we don’t judge your life) what that flat-nosed open-tipped .500 does to that meat is just a shame.

Keeping safe with lead on steel, the Hickok45 way (VIDEO)

Wed, 09/21/2016 - 19:49

It’s arguable that few people outside of hard core competitors put as many rounds on steel plates as Hickok45, and he gives his thoughts on how to stay safe while doing it.

“Life is full of risks,” he says, before offering some ideas to make shooting steel safer– not totally safe, because, well, it is still shooting steel– but safer.

Handcrafted Mexican ironwood shotgun slugs in practice (VIDEO)

Fri, 09/16/2016 - 19:09

In their latest episode of “you make it we shoot it” the shotgunners over at Taofledermaus test some handcrafted 12 gauge slugs made from Mexican Ironwood (disclaimer: that is not a Tejano thrash metal band).

The desert ironwood, Olneya, ranges from south Arizona and California through Baja and the Sonoran Desert and is so dense that it sinks in water. As such its prized for carvings and art work. Like these slugs, which prove to be very stout indeed.

The resin slugs are also pretty impressive as well and deliver a lot of force even though they are pretty light in weight.

Who wood have thunk it? (See what we did there?)

How many rounds does it take to make an AK74 meltdown? (VIDEO)

Thu, 09/15/2016 - 18:06

Eric and the IV8888 crew run the latest in their meltdown series of grueling tests with a VEPR 5.45x39mm rifle converted to select-fire by Definitive Arms.

They have been doing these tests for a while on AKs, Glocks, ARs and others (a Definitive Arms VEPR in 7.62x39mm went 800 rounds before jamming up) but this is their first 5.45mm run.

Starting off with a hodgepodge of 1,400 rounds and a table full of magazines, how far do you think they got with this one? Guess they didn’t expect that lacquered Wolf ammo to react the way it did…

Winning friends and influencing people with the .458 Socom (VIDEO)

Tue, 09/13/2016 - 18:51

Matt on DemolitionRanch wants to talk to you about his newfound ballistic joy, the giant .458 SOCOM fired out of a CMMG MkW-15 T.

Teppo Jutsu came up with the round about 15 years ago for special operations use using a .50AE case to cough up a 11.63mm bullet weighing anywhere from 140-405 grains, rather than the more typical 55-72 grain rounds in your 5.56/.223.

And as shown, it has a little bigger splash no matter what flavor of .458 he selects.

Stay tuned for the drone footage set to introspective music…which is a little different, but we like it (as well as the return of Cooter).

Select-fire FN P90TR 5.7×28 review: ‘I love this gun’ (VIDEO)

Fri, 09/09/2016 - 07:50

Machine Gun Mike lives up to his name and lights up a real deal post-86 sample Fabrique Nationale P90TR as fast as it can cycle.

Designed during the Cold War to give NATO troops a personal defense weapon (PDW) alternative to the 9mm pistol, the P90 was envisioned to be able to penetrate flak vests and steel helmets with it’s very spicy 5.7x28mm cartridge. In production since 1990, the un-neutered version is capable of 900 rounds per minute when the go switch is set to full fun.

The tri-rail version (hence TR) of the gun is what Mike has on tap, and he walks you through weapon manip and nomenclature before letting the 19-inch long Belgian waffle rip.

Tommy Guns: The only way they could be more fun is if they came in .46 (VIDEO)

Tue, 09/06/2016 - 18:41

If guns could talk, Hickok45 would be their poet laureate and he has a whole table full of .45s ready to converse including not one but two (2) Thompson SMGs.

Most importantly, he has an early M1921 Blish-lock commercial variant popular in the “Roaring 20s” and a more common WWII M1A1 military version, for direct comparison.

And he can make them sing.

Golf ball, playing card and skeet trick shots with a Taurus Judge (VIDEO)

Tue, 09/06/2016 - 18:18

Eschewing the .410 option, 22Plinkster rolls .45LC on the Brazilian wheelgun with the fixed sights in a series of increasingly tricky shots.

Sure, the card split and golf ball tricks were easy enough, but the Rube Goldberg double shot hitting an iron plate with the right hand, then switching to the skeet with the left-hand follow-up shot is a little neater.

He makes it look so easy, even a Yemeni could do it.

Too soon?

Patterning the sawed off SEA Bears Bark 20 ga. shotgun (VIDEO)

Fri, 09/02/2016 - 17:58

The NFA Review Channel pattern tests the Florida-based South East Arms’ Bears Bark abbreviated side-by-side shotty.

Starting with a full-length Stoeger Uplander shotgun; the barrels are cut and machined flush at 10-inches long and the rib gap is filled. Then the stock and furniture is cut, shaped in a birdhandle grip and re-checkered to give it a factory look rather than something done in a garage somewhere. SEA makes them in 20, 28 .410 and 12– thought they caution against the latter.

Overall, it’s super short at just 18.5-inches and tips the scales at a bit over 4.5-pounds.

They test it out with birdshot, buck and slugs to 21 feet.

And before you ask, no, you shouldn’t shoot it one-handed.

Fri, 09/02/2016 - 10:22

After suffering from age-related illnesses, Military Working Dog Nnorman of the 23d Security Forces Squadron at Moody Air Force Base in Georgia took his “last ride” this week.

Nnorman spent 10 years protecting our troops, did two deployments in Iraq and two in Afghanistan.

He was surrounded by those who loved him and during his last ride was assured by Shelby Bonello, wife of SSgt Nicholas Bonello, “You did your job.”

Visiting with a pre-WWI Gewehr 98 Mauser (VIDEO)

Thu, 09/01/2016 - 19:12

Hickok45 has shown off some bent-bolt K98s from the Second World War and now shows some love to it’s classic grandfather: a Great War-era G98.

There is nothing quite like the Mauser bolt-action rifle, from which arguably sprang the most widely used military rifle series of the late 19th and first half of the 20th Century (barring the Mosin-Nagant which probably surpassed it in total number of guns produced).

Even with this Spandau-made rifle being some 112-years old, you can recognize the lineage in today’s bolt guns.
