Attempted Seattle Home Invasion Shows – Once Again – Why You Need More Than 10 Rounds [VIDEO]

Sat, 10/21/2023 - 13:00

You’ve heard it dozens of times. No one needs more than 10 rounds in a magazine. If you can’t stop a threat with 10 rounds, you’re doing it wrong. Woolly-headed utopian anti-gun activists justify the limits they want to impose on all gun owners as some kind of safety measure that might some day, somewhere, slow down a spree killer who chooses to comply with a gun control law…while he’s murdering people.

Joe Biden went so far as to assert that 100 rounds in a chamber is crazy…whatever the hell that means.

ATF Agent Caught Smuggling Guns Into Mexico…Again

Sat, 10/21/2023 - 10:00

Maybe you thought that Fast and Furious, the Obama administration ATF operation that moved guns across the border into Mexico, was a thing of the distant past. Apparently not. Fast and Furious was reportedly shut down by the Obama Justice Department in 2011 when the whole disaster spilled into public view and resulted in deaths on both sides of the border, including US Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry.

The sitting Attorney General at the time, Barack Obama wingman Eric Holder, was eventually held in contempt of Congress over his lack of cooperation with the subsequent investigation.

Judge Benitez Wonders What the Hell Ryan Busse Knows About AR-15 Rifles

Sat, 10/21/2023 - 08:00

The State offers declarations from a number of other expert witnesses to address subjects other than historical analogues. In general, these are subjects that this Court has already addressed in its earlier opinion and is beyond the Court of Appeals remand order. Nevertheless, some of these opinions are mentioned here. …

Ryan Busse is a Giffords senior advisor and former firearm industry executive for a manufacturer and seller that specializes in pistols and revolvers, but not AR-15 platform rifles.

Benitez’s Ruling in California Threatens Washington’s ‘Assault Weapons’ Ban, Too

Fri, 10/20/2023 - 14:00

From the Second Amendment Foundation . . .

Thursday’s ruling by U.S. District Judge Roger T. Benitez which struck down California’s ban on so-called “assault weapons” should have a direct impact on a similar ban in Washington, because both states are in the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court, the Second Amendment Foundation says.

“If a gun ban in California is unconstitutional,” SAF founder and Executive Vice President Alan M. Gottlieb observed, “it is just as unconstitutional in Washington.

Mountain States Legal Foundation Sues to Block Colorado’s 3-Day Waiting Period

Fri, 10/20/2023 - 12:00

From Mountain States Legal Foundation . . .

Colorado’s law is not just a waiting period on the right to possess peaceably purchased property. It is a delay on safety itself. On October 1st, Colorado’s new 3-day waiting period law went into effect as passed by the state’s legislature and Governor Jared Polis, requiring those who purchase a firearm to wait three days before acquiring the gun. That is, once a citizen has passed a federal background check, a state background check, and paid for a firearm upfront, the government then mandates an additional 72-hour delay prior to taking possession of a firearm.

Gun Review: CMMG Resolute MkGs Pistol Caliber Carbine

Thu, 10/19/2023 - 16:00

I enjoy pistol-caliber carbines. I understand the complaints and reasons why others aren’t fans of them. I find them so much fun and cheaper to shoot than my 5.56 and .308 caliber rifles. They tend to be easy to suppress, and I can shoot at most indoor ranges, as well as being able to be fairly close to steel targets when shooting.

What’s my favorite PCC? Currently, it’s the CMMG MkGs Resolute.

There are a few things to unpack there.

You Shouldn’t Be Surprised That the Government Fights as Hard as it Does Against Checks on its Power

Thu, 10/19/2023 - 14:00

This has been a frustrating week or so for the gun rights side. The Supreme Court quashed a lower court injunction last week allowing ATF to enforce its Frame and Receiver redefinition of firearms (“ghost gun” regulation) until the case can be decided in court.

Now the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals — doing everything it possibly can to avoid the embarrassment of pro-gun decisions — has asked for supplemental briefing regarding whether a challenge to California’s open carry ban should be heard en banc.

BREAKING: District Judge Roger Benitez Strikes Down California’s ‘Assault Weapons’ Ban…Again

Thu, 10/19/2023 - 13:59

Stop us if you’ve seen this movie before. Just as he did last month when reconsidering California’s “high capacity” magazine ban in Duncan v. Bonta, District Judge Roger Benitez has taken another look at Miller v. Bonta, the case challenging the Golden State’s ban on “assault weapons” and found it to be constitutionally problematic. Today, he issued another opinion in the case, once again striking it down as patently unconstitutional.

Smith & Wesson Announces the New Response 9mm Pistol Caliber Carbine

Thu, 10/19/2023 - 10:00

Smith & Wesson just dropped a new 9mm pistol caliber carbine (PCC), the Response. When I first caught the rumors on the Response on Reddit prior to the official release I thought it was going to be a 9mm AR platform rifle, but it isn’t exactly that.

While the Response has pretty standard AR-style controls, buttstock, charging handle, M-LOK rails and the like, it’s actually a blowback design that utilizes its own upper and lower receiver design (while still using an AR-style buffer and spring assembly to help keep recoil low).

Biden on the explosion in the hospital parking lot: “I’m not suggesting that Hamas deliberately did it … it’s that old thing, gotta learn how to shoot straight”

President Biden told reporters Wednesday that Palestinian terrorists have “gotta learn how to shoot straight” — one day after an explosion outside a hospital in the Gaza Strip.

“I’m not suggesting that Hamas deliberately did it,” the president said at Ramstein Air Base in Germany en route back to Washington after visiting Israel earlier in the day.

Gear Review: Ultradyne Launch Pad Shooting Rest

Wed, 10/18/2023 - 16:00

I first heard of Ultradyne when I reviewed their AR-15 iron sights, which are still the best I’ve ever come across. That sight set is an exceptionally well-made and well-designed product. Which is the same thing I can say about everything I’ve seen Ultradyne make ever since. The Ultradyne Launch Pad is no exception.

In its simplest terms, the Launch Pad is a gun rest. I’ve used some kind of shooting rest several times a week, every week, for many years.

Why ‘Gun Absolutism’ is Counterproductive and Toxic for the Concealed Carry Movement

Wed, 10/18/2023 - 14:00

By Timothy Tarkelly

I bought my first pistol for concealed carry earlier this year. I’ve been around firearms my whole life and have hunting weapons and a .22 LR revolver for plinking, but it was only recently that I decided to take the next step and purchase a pistol that’s actually designed for self-defense.

As a newly-married public school teacher, I don’t have a ton of money to throw around, so I made a price-conscious, but reliable choice.

Florida Judge Gives Woman a Choice: Give Up Your Guns or Your Husband Goes to Prison

Wed, 10/18/2023 - 10:00

by Lee Williams

Last week, a Florida judge forced Lisa Marok to renounce her Second Amendment rights, give up her Florida Concealed Weapon or Firearm License (CWFL), and remove all firearms and every single round of ammunition from her home, even though she hadn’t been accused of a single crime.

If she failed to comply with the judge’s unconstitutional order, her husband could have served 19 months in a state prison.

Vinik: I’ve Concluded That Reasoning With ‘2A Fanatics’ is Futile

Wed, 10/18/2023 - 08:00

On a recent flight, I found myself seated next to a man I’ll call Rick, who was keen for conversation.

We established that we are both lawyers. Rick works for the government, and I explained that I lead a gun violence prevention organization. Rick took that as an invitation to talk about guns.

A self-described “2A [Second Amendment] fanatic” from Texas, Rick grew up with guns and today owns more than 40 firearms.
