Swampfox Optics Releases the Sentinel II RMSc footprint Red or Green Dot Optic
Swampfox Optics just officially dropped a new optic for subcompact pistols using the RMSc footprint, the Sentinel II (see our review here). It comes with either a green or red 3MOA dot, has a 50,000 hour battery life, and a body of 7075-T6 aluminum.
What makes the Sentinel II unique is that the optic window is actually slightly larger than the base giving you more viewing area than would otherwise be possible on an RMSc sized platform.
BREAKING: Supreme Court Grants Cert, Will Hear Case Challenging Trump’s Bump Stock Ban
Time to lay in a heavier supply of popcorn. Today the Supreme Court granted cert in Garland v. Cargill, the case challenging the Trump era bump stock ban. The about face by the ATF following the Las Vegas mass shooting came at the direction of the Trump administration. ATF, which had previously approved sales of bump fire stocks as legal accessories used regulatory fiat to do a 180 and reclassify them as machine guns.
The Supreme Court’s hand was forced here by a circuit court split.

Gun Sales Tick Back Up in October With Over 1.3 Million Adjusted Background Checks
The gradual slide in gun sales may have reached a bottom. The NSSF’s adjusted background check numbers for October was up more than 8% from the year-ago total. In other words, the gun industry may have found the new post-pandemic floor in the demand for guns.
News of war in Israel and threats of violence in the U.S. may well have contributed to the October increase. Here’s what the NSSF’s Mark Oliva had to say about the figures .

Guns for Beginners: You Don’t Know What You Don’t Know About Armed Self-Defense

The news right now is enough to frighten anyone. I’m hearing Pro-Palestinian protesters say they wanted to kill Jews. I expected that from extremists overseas but I didn’t expect to hear it here in the US.
I take those threats seriously. I hope you do too. I’m hearing a lot of people talk about gun ownership and armed self-defense who’d never given either one much thought before. Unless you’ve studied armed self-defense for a while, there’s a lot for you to learn in order to defend yourself and your family.

Even After the Maine Shooting, a Majority of Americans Want More Enforcement, Not More Gun Control Laws

A new Rasmussen survey conducted in the aftermath of the Maine mass shooting substantiates what the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms has said for years: Americans think enforcement of existing gun laws would do more to prevent gun-related violence than passing new laws.
According to Rasmussen, 57 percent of voters say stricter enforcement of existing gun control laws would be more effective, while 30 percent believe passing new laws would do more.
Gun Sales Jump as More American Jews Buy Guns for the First Time
“We are seeing Jewish customers buying their first guns,” Whiddon said. “Overall, we’re seeing about a 30-percent increase in business.”
State Rep. Esther Panitch, (D) 51, says antisemitism has been rising in recent years on the right and the left and has spiked since the Hamas terror attack a few weeks ago.
“It’s a dark and dangerous time for Jews right now,” Panitch, who is the only Jewish American lawmaker in the Georgia legislature, said.

We Will Not Comply: Only .1% of Illinois Gun Owners Have Registered Their Newly Banned Guns So Far
According to Illinois State Police data, 2,415,481 gun owners call the Land o’ Lincoln home. Earlier this year, Gov. J.B. Pritzker signed the so-called Protect Illinois Communities Act into law which banned the most many of the most popular guns used for self-defense. Under the law, existing owners of these now verboten firearms must register their guns by January 1, 2024 or face felony charges.
Four weeks into the gun registration window, exactly 2430 of those FOID holders have registered their guns, accessories, or .50 caliber firearms.

Biden Isn’t Just Going After ‘Rogue’ Gun Dealers, He’s Targeting ALL Gun Dealers

Shortly after taking office, Joe Biden weaponized the ATF and then announced a zero-tolerance policy for “rogue gun dealers,” who he claimed were responsible for increased violent crime rates in many major U.S. cities.
“Rogue gun dealers” the President explained, are those Federal Firearm Licensees who willfully transfer firearms to prohibited persons, and/or who refuse to cooperate with a tracing request from ATF.
“Merchants of death are breaking the law for profit,” Biden said in June 2021.
Biden Administration Opens a New Front in its War on Guns and the Companies That Make Them
President Joe Biden is stepping up his effort to cripple the firearm industry, the one industry that provides the means for law-abiding citizens to exercise their Second Amendment rights.
President Biden’s Commerce Department issued a new and unprecedented edict that bans the export of firearms, ammunition and certain accessories to most overseas markets. The Commerce Department’s Bureau of Industry and Security posted a notice of a 90-day “pause” for the exports on a Friday afternoon – on the Frequently Asked Questions Section that’s listed on the bottom the BIS website.
