Common Sense Gun Laws Being Attacked By Gun Controllers

Wed, 04/02/2014 - 12:19

In Georgia, gun controllers are once again proving that common sense gun laws to them only include ones that seek to stamp out the 2nd Amendment completely.

The gun haters are currently foaming at the mouth at HB-60 that is currently awaiting Governor Deal’s signature to be enacted into law.

HB-60 basically tosses in a whole helping of common sense but the gun control zealots are once again doing their prognostication of blood running in the streets.

Here are the highlights of HB-60:

It allows CHOICE of private business owners on who they allow into their establishments

  • Removes bars from the off limits list and treats them like every other piece of private property in GA in that the property owner has the right to eject a person from their property.
  • Allows church carry if the church agrees to allow guns in churches and establishes up to a $100 fine if caught carrying in a church that does not allow.

It forces the government to adhere to the rights of the people

  • Allows firearms in government buildings that are not restricted or screened by security personnel during the hours the building is open for business.
  • Require public housing to allow tenants to have firearms in their dwellings unless required by

Gun and the Art of Motorcycle Repair

Wed, 04/02/2014 - 11:03

I finally got a chance to break out the cruiser from its long winter slumber yesterday and take her on the road.

Even though it was still a little brisk, cruising around on two wheels still invigorated me with the rush of freedom that it always has.  While I was riding I started to think about the similarities between motorcycle owners and gun owners.

Riding a motorcycle instills in the rider a sense of freedom, of liberty if you will.  The feeling that with the wind in your face and your hand on the throttle you are the master of your own universe.  That destiny and fate are in your own hands and at your command.  Something those who drive in cages can’t truly understand, though convertible drivers have a taste.

Motorcycle owners come in a myriad of different shapes, sizes, colors and genders.  They drive high powered crotch rockets and tricked out tour bikes.  Factory standard dual bikes and customized choppers.  Some riders yield to the safety provisions of helmets while others rage against the government trying to enforce its will on them to do so.

1 percent of bikers are outlaws, yet the stigma of that minuscule number is used to taint the 99% by those who irrationally hate both motorcycles and bikers.

If a couple of motorcycle enthusiasts get together to go for a

A reason to have a gun at hand when at home: GIANT RATS

Fri, 03/28/2014 - 12:45

The Second Amendment was put into the Bill of Rights to remind government that the right to keep and bear arms by the people limits their power.

But that doesn’t mean that guns are only supposed to be used for tyrant killing and revolutions.  Firearms can be used for hunting, self defense, sport and so on.  When it comes to self defense and protection, there is always the amorphous “unknown”  that gun owners use as reason to carry; rightfully so.  You do not always know when trouble and danger will spring up so it makes all logical sense to have the means to defend yourself on hand.

That rings true in a persons home as well.

I’m not saying you march around with your AK-47 at the low ready at all times but having it readily accessible may prove valuable.

I mean, you never know when THIS is gonna come atcha:

Here’s another pic to see it’s ratio:

Gun Control Fanatic Senator Leland Yee Finally Arrested On Corruption Charges

Wed, 03/26/2014 - 20:31

I’ve been saying that Leland Yee was a criminal for years…federal authorities finally paid attention.

Yee was arrested by the FBI Wednesday morning for public corruption.  While this isn’t terribly surprising given Lee’s track record of ignoring what was morally and ethically right, what IS slightly surprising is that among the charges being leveled against Yee is GUN TRAFFICKING.  How poetically ironic.

Yee doesn’t seem as happy in the back of a FBI Agent’s car as he was when he was persecuting law abiding gun owners in California.

This isn’t even your typical white collar politician crime which consists of kickbacks and quid quo pro arrangements.  Yee is being charged with conspiring to traffic in firearms and who is conspiring with?  Yee is now being linked to Chinese Mafioso Raymond “Shrimp Boy” Chow, former soldier in San Francisc

(Un) Common Core – Where gun controllers indoctrinate THEIR idea of the 2nd Amendment

Tue, 03/25/2014 - 13:38

The idea of a standard in education sounds good at first blush.  You don’t want to have anyone fall behind.  But the problem arises when a few are allowed to dictate what is “Common” and their views are allowed to indoctrinate the children of this country even if those views are contrary to the truth.

Case in point, the textbooks and teaching materials that are approved by the Common Core Standards have warped interpretations of the 2nd Amendment.

Examples in textbooks on how the 2nd Amendment is taught:

United States History: Preparing for the Advanced Placement Examination:

The Second Amendment: The people have the right to keep and bear arms in a state militia.

The Americans (history textbook):

The Second and Third Amendments – grant citizens the right to bear arms as members of a militia of citizen-soldiers and prevent the government from housing troops in private homes in peacetime.

This might have been acceptable (WRONG, but acceptable) prior to Heller v DC and McDonald v Chicago but those cases were 6 and 4 years ago respectively.  The issue is done, the Supreme Court has ruled (twice) that individual people have

Gun Owner Bigotry Being Fought Against In The Sunshine State

Mon, 03/24/2014 - 12:44

The desire to be free, to enjoy liberty, to sever the yolk of tyranny…these are not choices.  These are inherent in me from my birth.  And the ONLY way that I can live my life following the aforementioned endowments I was bestowed with by both the law of nature and my Creator is to be properly armed against those that would threaten my liberty.

In other words, in regards to being a gun owner…I was born this way.

And in AMERICA, we are SUPPOSED to protect people from discrimination.  We protect groups based on the color of their skin.  I contend that a person has as much choice being born a certain color as I do in my innate desire to be armed from tyranny.

Unfortunately most of the country still lags behind in this realization, hence we have Jim Crow like laws that add “poll” taxes to owning a gun, segregation of places where gun owners can’t go without even the facade of “separate but equal” and just downright bigotry against gun owners.

Imagine a state passing a law that says if you are too black you must leave the state or turn yourself into police.  In New York State, that is what the SAFE Act basically says.  The AR-15 is “too black” and as such must be driven out.  Sure, the brown guns can stay (but well keep a close eye o

Colorado Public School Views Gun Knowledge As Part Of A Well Rounded Education

Fri, 03/21/2014 - 13:34

So apparently all is not lost in public education.

In Pueblo County, school officials have opened up their eyes to the importance of teaching children both safety and respect of firearms.  Where gun controllers be all end all method of teaching kids about guns is to say “guns are bad and run away from them” school officials have actually decided to do something that works.

You see, if anyone has kids or have had an interaction with a child, simply telling them “NO” and “DON’T TOUCH THAT” will do one of two things.  One, it will instill in them a crippling and irrational fear of whatever you are talking about (in this case, firearms) that will haunt them for years thus making them freeze in panic when faced with it, especially if in the hands of a criminal.  Two, the prohibition and mystery of the taboo object will just make them seek it out on their own and all too often such things end in tragedy.

So, in short, the methods gun controllers support lead to mentally crippling people and child shootings.

Pueblo County School officials on the other hand have accepted that the best way for children to learn about guns and safety is to ACTUALLY TEACH them about guns and safety.

You have a license to carry that gun tattoo?

Thu, 03/20/2014 - 13:20

In a story that is just full of fail a man from Maine had his home besieged by SWAT troopers armed with assault rifles because he had a tattoo.

In Norridgewock Maine, Michael Smith works nights so when a tree removal crew entered onto HIS property and started making a racket at 10am he was understandably upset.  Smith arose from his bed and went outside to tell the intruders to get off his property and to keep it down.  Coming directly from his comfortable bed Smith didn’t feel inclined to put a shirt on.  It was this inaction that revealed his “dangerous and frightening” tattoo; that of a handgun by his waistband.

Smith went back to bed and the tree removal crew called the cops and filed a false report.  The crew said something to the effect that Smith had threatened them with a gun and as a result a few minutes after returning to bed the Sheriff of Somerset and Maine State Troopers besieged his house and demanded via bullhorn for him to come out and surrender himself.

Once again Smith quickly came out of his house without wasting time putting on a shirt because as he later would say: “I got plans today. I didn’t want to get shot.”

The police quickly realized that they had been deceived.

Oklahoma politician proves once again it’s about CONTROL not guns

Tue, 03/18/2014 - 14:45

I first read about this story from Girls Just Wanna Have Guns wherein 40 Sheriffs from around Oklahoma gathered at the state capitol for their annual meet and greet.

Somehow, even though the sheriffs meet annually there for a meet and greet, and the state troopers had no qualms with their gathering some state senator got his/her panties in a bunch and complained.  The complainer has remained anonymous but what they were complaining about wasn’t.

The State Senator took offense that the sheriffs were armed.  That’s right, this gun hating state senator demanded that the sheriff’s be kicked out because he/she didn’t like the notion that they were legally armed within the lobby of the State Capitol.

Once again, this only goes to prove that gun control politicians do not care one lick about anything other than CONTROL.  I mean, these were duly elected law enforcement officials from around the state yet they weren’t deemed “worthy” enough to go about the State Capitol building armed.

How exactly is disarming or expelling these Sheriffs making anything safer?  The answer is, “it’

More guns, less crime – Cops are finally coming around

Tue, 03/18/2014 - 14:21

While covering CPAC earlier in March one of the highlights was listening in on the panel discussion entitled: “More Guns,Less Crime: How Law Enforcement is Beginning to Embrace a Well-Armed Civilian Populace.”  Obviously having the law abiding citizens of this country armed in order to protect themselves from criminals is a logical certainty.  But it has always seemed that Law Enforcement has rejected the notion.

Every time you hear of a pro gun bill there seem to be police organizations spouting off against it, or gun control measures that are so inane only their sponsers and those same police organizations are the only ones who support it.

Yet, if you look closely at WHO exactly is doing the anti gun tango it is often times not the rank and file officers but rather those big city police chief organizations that owe their patronage, not to the citizens that one would think they are sworn to protect, but rather the political machines that placed them in positions of power to begin with.  A very easy way to validate this is too take a look at Law Enforcement Officers who DON’T have to kiss the gun controller’s ring in order to stay employed.  Take a look at the Sherriff’s in places that gun control has passed.  Places like New York and Colorado.  The Sheriffs

Be like St. Patrick and drive the gun control snakes from the land

Sun, 03/16/2014 - 23:05

Happy St. Patrick’s Day.

While we all adorn green and lift a pint in honor of the Patron Saint of Ireland today let us not forget his most notable achievement, he drove all snakes out of the emerald isle.  It is only one of the few places in all the world where you will not find slithery serpents.

If only the same could be said of Congress.

Think on this, how many rights are we denied because of fair weather polticians who speak with a forked tongue while they are courting our votes only to slither back to Washington DC and hide in the Capitol and pollute our liberty with their venom.

Harry Reid, for instance got an A rating from the NRA because he went with the flow while Bush was in office but the moment Obama resided at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave he slithered over to the side that wants to deny the right of law abiding American’s to keep and bear arms.

It is not a Democrat thing either, Republican US Senator from Pennsylvania Pat Toomey teamed up with other avowed “pro gun” Senator Joe Manchin to push for federal gun control.  On the campaign trail these men paraded themselves as STAUNCH pro 2nd Amendment politicians.  The only truth in that is that they were truly politicians and their loyalty was swayed by the idea of getting more votes and more pow

Literary Overtones for The Walking Dead Episode “The Grove”

Sun, 03/16/2014 - 22:28

While it is an joke amongst gun owners that one can judge whether you have enough armament by ruminating on if they could survive the zombie apocalypse, that doesn’t mean I’m not a fan of the zombie genre.  In particular, AMC’s series “The Walking Dead.”

What’s so good about it is that in the serialized format you can see what happens to people, over time, living in this world.  What propels this show in particular is that the writing, for the majority of its run, has been fantastic.

That is especially true with Season 4 Episode 14 “The Grove.”

This episode showed surprisingly few zombies yet the tension was palpable throughout.

The Grove focused solely on Tyreese’s group which included the recently returned Carol, the preteen sisters Lizzie and Mika as well as baby Judith.

The majority of this episode dealt with the dealings of being a child in the zombie apocalypse.  Not a newborn who grew up through it or an adult who had a normal childhood but those who had only experienced a taste of childhood and then were thrown into a hell on Earth.

In this episode we see two extremes on the young psyche’s of Mika and Lizzie and it revealed itself with great literary overtones.

Mass Murderers have one less place to target – The State of Idaho

Thu, 03/13/2014 - 13:32

Or at least the State Colleges and Universities of the Gem State.  Idaho Governor CL “Butch” Otter has signed SB1254 into law that makes it legal for licensed gun owners to carry on the grounds of public universities with the exception of Dorms, Residence Halls and Entertainment venues.

Outside of that last little blip, this is definitely a step in the right direction.

No more will law abiding gun owners have to huddle behind a desk while some psychopath is executing his or her fellow students in front of their eyes while they helplessly wait their turn.

No more will the right to defend yourself be taken from you just because you want to further your education.

No more will this fool notion of “Gun Free Zones” somehow making people safer persist on the public campus’ of Idaho.

This is a very good thing.  Finally, people are waking up from the myth that denying the law abiding their right to defend themselves does ANYTHING other than protect criminals with malice in their hearts.

Yet, even after overwhelming logic dictates that guns in the hands of the law abiding are better than forcibly disarmed victims huddled like lambs to the slaughter, there are those who fought this sensible Crime-Control measure.

For instance, the Boise Stat

Can the Man from Westchester SAVE the 2nd Amendment in New York?

Wed, 03/12/2014 - 12:07

No sooner did Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino declare his candidacy for Governor of New York did my inbox start getting bombarded with emails from upstaters questioning whether a politician from a county so close to NYC can be pro gun.

The term RINO was bandied about as well as one email from former Republican Candidate for Governor, Carl Paladino, stated that Astorino was just a puppet of New York Republican State Committee Chair, Ed Cox.

The Astorino candidacy is only being promoted by Cox to perpetuate the Albany establishment and the abuse of government by the arrogant and vain tyrant, Andrew Cuomo, who wants to maintain the status quo.  The rank and file want change and Cox appears to be setting Astorino up as a sacrificial run to keep all his RINO lobbyist buddies like D’Amato fat and happy, feeding at the public trough.

While I do believe that RINO’s are a detriment to the Republican Party I will not blindly condemn a man by his supporters or his detractors.  Therefore I took the past week since his announcement to see where Astorino stands on the 2nd Amendment and whether he has walked the walk or if talk of fighting the SAFE Act is just a means to get him elected.

First of all, let’s remember that Rob Astorino

Gun Girls of CPAC – Killing the Stereotype

Mon, 03/10/2014 - 16:20

Gun controllers and gun grabbers of the intolerant left have long tried to promote this idea that gun owners are a fraternal order of good ole boys.  That ALL gun owners can be encapsulated in a caricature of being a bunch of old fat white guys.

Nothing could be further from the truth.  Personal protection, freedom from tyranny; these are sentiments that translate regardless of age, gender or color.

Gallup Polling has been tracking guns trends and women have skyrocketed in recent years in terms of gun ownership and concealed weapons permit applications.  After all, why wouldn’t they?  Most women in their right mind realize that they don’t need to be a victim or helpless in order to be a feminine woman.

Only liberal mouth breathing troglodytes who hate guns think that it is morally superior for women to be raped and murdered than to fire a gun in their own self defense.

CPAC day 3: Rand Paul Rolls and guns take center stage

Sat, 03/08/2014 - 17:41

Rand Paul won the 2014 CPAC straw poll in commanding fashion by nearly triple the total of 2nd place finisher Ted Cruz.

And thus ends the 2014 Conservative Political Action Conference.

The third day of the conservative bonanza found guns and the 2nd Amendment front and center.  The NRA ran a program debunking gun control myths and instruction on how to talk to mouth drooling gun control zealots.  It was a rather interesting refresher course for me.  Video and a more in depth write up will come next week.

After NRA University the main stage held a forum entitled: More Guns Less Crime.  The forum consisted of Emily Miller, Milwaukee Sherriff David Clark, Former US Rep. Sandy Adams and was moderated by Chris Cox.

I recorded the entire forum and will be bringing that to you with commentary next week as well.

All in all the attendees of CPAC left with a renewed vigor for the upcoming mid term elections so we will see if it carries through til November.

Day 2 of CPAC: Rand Paul Brings Down the House

Fri, 03/07/2014 - 17:36

The second day of CPAC was pretty much your standard fare, more red meat and all.

There was a forum in the main hall entitled: “Can Libertarians and Social Conservatives Get Along”…even after sitting through the entire forum I wasn’t exactly sure if they could.

After the forum though, Rand Paul took the stage to a packed house and the applause was exuberant and deafening.

His speech started off with him painting a picture in the minds of the audience, imagine a time true liberty was enjoyed coast to coast.  Imagine a time when the Constitution was the law of the land.  Imagine a President who loved America and didn’t shred the Constitution in a megalomaniacal attempt to crown himself emperor.

Ok, so maybe the last part I paraphrased just a bit, but you get the sentiment.

As a gun rights advocate I took to imagining a time when the SAFE Act not only didn’t exist but anyone who would try to impose it upon the populous would be run out on a rail as a tyrant.  I imagined a country where my Weapons Permit was simply a copy of the Bill of Rights with the 2nd Amendment circled.  And of course I imagined a President who respected his citizens and new that he served at their pleasure, not the oth

A European’s Idea of an American Breakfast

Thu, 03/06/2014 - 22:41

Having dinner with some friends, one of them asked me if I had seen the European’s idea of an American Breakfast.  When I said I hadn’t he pulled out his smartphone and showed it to me.

I laughed pretty hard because while I’m sure some smarmy European was having, what he thought, was a dig to American’s I just thought it looked like the breakfast of Champions.

Here it is:

Day One of CPAC in the books

Thu, 03/06/2014 - 22:23

Hello faithful readers.  Since I hadn’t mentioned this before I am covering CPAC which is taking place in Maryland this year.  Because of that of course, your intrepid Pennsylvanian is disarmed because apparently free people (and gun manufacturers) aren’t welcome here.

Putting that aside, what did I learn on Day 1?

If you like red meat, CPAC is the place for you.  Some of it came across as genuine, such as Ted Cruz’s declaration to “Abolish the IRS” while others came across as pandering, like Mitch McConnell strolling on stage waving a black powder rifle.

When Cruz talks about abolishing the IRS I believe him.  When McConnell tries to channel Charlton Heston I find it wanting.

And the crowd by and large seemed to agree with my sentiment.  While other speakers enjoyed overwhelming ovations McConnell was treated with a smattering of light clapping.  The only time when he received anything one would call “thunderous” applause was when he handed off the rifle to Sen. Tom Coburn of Oklahoma as a gift commemorating his retirement…but really that was to Coburn more than to McConnell.

By and large not too much gun talk to be had but gun owners aren’t one dimensional and ot

Obama’s Foreign Policy: Keep drawing lines in the sand and hope

Tue, 03/04/2014 - 19:05

For those of you who don’t know, Rex Ryan is the Head Coach for the New York Jets football team.

Rex Ryan LOVES to talk a big game.

So much so, he guaranteed a Super Bowl victory THREE TIMES in three successive seasons before said seasons even started.  Not only did he not win a Super Bowl, but his team never even MADE the game.

It seems like Obama has followed Rex Ryan’s lead and has decided to just continually spout off with diarrhea of the mouth and not actually back it up with anything.  He has let Iran, Syria and Russia do whatever they want despite his ever moving “line in the sand.”

What the president has failed to figure out, the lesson even a toddler knows, is that if all you do is bluff and someone finally calls you on it, they will never take you seriously again.  That is why Putin is having a good ol chuckle at Barack’s expense whenever Obama utters tripe like ending a demand with “or else.”

Being a veteran myself it gets kinda hard to see America dragged through the sewers because our comander in chief is out of his depth and has no clue on how to lead, save for being more flexible and more accomodating to our enemies.

Long story short, I’m fed up with it and typing words no longer suffice to express my displeasure so I made
