Walther CCP Compact 9mm
Walther released their CCP compact 9mm pistol at SHOT Show this year. Richard and I were able to put our hands on one at the Industry Day at the Range. Unfortunately, they were only allowing reporters to fire one 8-round magazine each, so our personal experiences were limited. However, we were able to make some interesting observations about this new compact pistol.

I’m always glad to take time to visit the precision rifle geniuses at GA Precision while touring the massive SHOT Show floor and conference rooms. Founded by George Gardner in 1999, GA Precision of North Kansas City, Missouri, has become world-renowned for producing extremely accurate long-range rifles.
...Coonan 1911 in .357 Magnum
Coonan may not be as familiar in the 1911 world as Colt, Remington, Kimber, Springfield, or Rock Island Armory, but that hasn’t stopped them from thinking outside of the box. This year at SHOT Show Coonan introduced their Model 1911 .357 Magnum Automatic, in both Classic and Compact configurations.

...Adams Arms New .308 Piston Rifle
Adams Arms announced their new Model SF-308, Small Frame piston driven rifles at SHOT Show this year. Adams Arms has poured years of research and development to engineer an incredible new .308 AR-style rifle with many great features. The new Model SF-308 was so popular at SHOT Show that Adams Arms has already sold out their pre-order capacity! Though I believe a 5.56mm AR-platform is better suited as a Patrol Rifle in most circumstances, I do believe that a .308 caliber offering has its place in certain situations.
...PA Bill Would Reduce Knife Restrictions
Legislators in the State of Pennsylvania have just introduced a bill that would reduce or eliminate several legal restrictions on knives as “Prohibited Weapons”. The act was strongly supported by the American Knife and Tool Institute (AKTI), and would delete “dagger, knife, razor or cutting instrument razor which is exposed in an automatic way by switch, push button, spring mechanism, or otherwise” from current Pennsylvania law (Title 18, Section 908 (c), Section 2).

...New Ruger Gunsite Scout Rifles
Ruger introduce their Gunsite Scout Rifle several years ago. Based upon Jeff Cooper’s Scout Rifle concept, the Ruger Gunsite produced a compact, bolt-action rifle, that met many of Cooper’s goals. The one area that was outside of Cooper’s specifications was weight. Cooper called for a rifle no more than 6.6 lbs. but the Ruger Gunsite came in between 7.1 to 7.3 lbs. depending on selection.
...Gerber Ding-Dong Breaching Tool
Gerber has been famous for producing some very impressive knives for nearly . The company continues to make great knife options, but in recent years Gerber has been increasingly branching off into survival and specialty tools. At SHOT Show this year, Gerber was showing their “Ding-Dong” breaching tool, released mid-2014. The Gerber Ding-Dong is a multi-purpose Halligan Tool (H-Tool), combining the standard H-Tool pry bar function with a heavy-duty sledge-hammer and battering ram.
