Father Defends Family From Armed Robbers, Shot 3 Times
SEATTLE, WASHINGTON — A man has survived after being shot three times during an attempted robbery in South Seattle, according to reports.
The Seattle Police Department confirmed that the shooting took place at 11:09 pm on Tuesday, and officers were called to the 5000 block of South Thistle Street, according to KIRO 7.
The victim, a 30-year-old man, was shot once in each leg and once in one of his feet.

Police: Intruder Shot And Killed By Lawfully-Armed Citizen
FORT SMITH, ARKANSAS — A 58-year-old male homeowner shot and killed a 29-year-old male intruder attempting to enter his home near 18th and N H streets, according to reports.
He has since been identified as Jacob Andrew Webb, according to KNWA.
The homeowner was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Police do not believe there is any danger to the public and consider this to be an isolated incident.

Woman Saves Self From Husband, Ruled Self-Defense
ROSWELL, NEW MEXICO — The shooting death of a man in Roswell will be ruled as self-defense, according to the police.
Brian Jaramillo was shot multiple times by his wife inside their business on Monday morning, according to KRQE.
The police received a call from a man who reported a woman with a gun in her hand who needed help. When the police arrived, they found the woman sitting in front of the business and Jaramillo dead in a back room.

Report: Two Would-Be Carjackers Stopped By Armed Citizen
OAK LAWN, ILLINOIS — On Wednesday, in the 6500 block of W. 89th Place in Oak Lawn, two armed individuals allegedly tried to steal a car but were thwarted by the driver who was armed with a gun, according to reports.
The driver fired approximately eight shots at the suspects causing them to flee in a black Jeep. The Jeep was later located in the 6200 block of W. 90th Street, according to WGNTV.

Teen Shuts Down Home Invasion With Mother’s Pistol
MONTVILLE, OHIO — An Ohio teenager named Brayden Jarrett stopped an intruder who tried to break into his house while he was home alone, according to reports.
Brayden was familiar with firearms in part due to his hunting experiences and knew where his mother’s 9mm handgun was kept, according to WJW.
He stood watching the door as the outside door opened, and when the intruder started to open the inside door, he loaded the gun.

Florida Homeowner Shoots, Kills Intruder
LYNN HAVEN, FLORIDA — A suspect is dead after he broke into a Lynn Haven home and was shot by the homeowner, according to reports.
The altercation occurred January 10th at around 6 a.m. in a residence in Lynn Haven, according to The Sacramento Bee. The suspect, identified only as a 23-year-old male, was reportedly discovered in the house by a resident.
The homeowner was alerted to the intruder and confronted the suspect.

LYNN HAVEN, FLORIDA — A household in Florida was forced to defend themselves against an intruder on Jan. 10, resulting in a physical altercation and a fatal shooting of the intruder, according to reports.
The incident occurred at around 6 a.m. in a neighborhood near Lynn Haven in the Florida Panhandle, according to The Sacramento Bee.
According to the Bay County Sheriff’s Office, a resident of the home discovered the stranger, a 23-year-old male, within the home.

Suspected Burglar Shot and Killed By Armed Resident
SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS — A suspected burglar was shot and killed after he allegedly kicked down the door of a resident’s apartment one morning last month, according to KSAT.
KSAT shared this report:
According to an SAPD spokesperson, an apartment resident said a man kicked down the door in an attempt to burglarize it. Since the door was bolted, police said, that man had to use immense force to kick down the door.

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH — A shooting that occurred last month in Salt Lake City is now being examined as an act of self-defense.
The original incident occurred on December 27th, at just before 2:50 p.m., according to ABC4.
The incident occurred at an apartment complex in the 900 block of Main Street. Police responded to the location after multiple calls, finding a man armed with a handgun and another person shot.

Man Dies In Truck After Dog Steps On Rifle, Setting It Off
WELLINGTON, KANSAS — A man is dead because of an accidental discharge involving a dog, according to reports.
According to KSNT, an unnamed man was shot while riding in the passenger’s seat of a pickup truck when a dog in the back stepped on a rifle, somehow getting either itself or something else in the back of the truck into the trigger guard.
First responders attempted to save the man’s life, but he was later pronounced dead at the scene.

College Basketball Coach Accused Of Murder, Claims Self-Defense
HUNTSVILLE, ALABAMA — A college basketball coach has been charged with the murder of a 29-year-old man who was shot and killed Dec. 29.
The woman accused, Kashonna Jenae Strong, has claimed that the shooting was in self-defense.
According to Huntsville police, shots were heard at around 5:20 p.m. the day of the shooting. Police arrived and, after an initial investigation, arrested Strong for the death of Antonio Robinson, 29, Pop Culture reported.

WINSON COUNTY, ALABAMA — A suspect is dead and another is in custody after an attempted home invasion in Winson County, Alabama.
The incident occurred December 13th at a residence on County Road 21 in Poplar Springs, according to WBRC.
The two suspects entered the home at the location, according to law enforcement. One of the suspects allegedly struck a resident with a handgun and then opened fire. A resident then shot and killed the suspect.

HOUSTON, TEXAS — A burglary suspect was shot and killed by a homeowner in Houston.
The incident occurred Monday, December 12th at around 3:45 a.m., according to Alaska News Source. Houston Police responded to a shooting call and found an unconscious woman in a ditch. The woman and a male accomplice had been burglarizing vehicles in the area, according to witnesses.
A homeowner shot the woman and the male suspect fled the area.

Woman Tells Burglar to Rob Home, Gets Charged With His Murder
St. LOUIS, MISSOURI — A St. Louis man shot and killed a burglar last month, and prosecutors have declined to charge him with a crime, as it was a self-defense shooting.
They had no problem, however, charging the woman who helped organize that burglary with her comrade’s death.

72-Year-Old Man Thwarts Home Invasion With Gun
BEDFORD COUNTY, PA — A suspect was shot and killed by a homeowner during a home invasion attempt, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
The incident occurred Saturday, December 10th at around 3 a.m., on Shoups Branch Road in Liberty Township, accordig to WTAJ. State Police received a 911 call by the homeowner, an unnamed 72-year-old male, of an attempted assault and home invasion.
At one point, the call was disconnected. Upon re-connection of the call, police learned of a shooting at the location.
