Accused Rapist Shot In The Foot After Breaking Into Woman’s Home
TULSA, OKLAHOMA – Wilfredo Gomez was allegedly attempting to rape a woman when she grabbed her gun and shot him in the foot.
The woman, who has not been identified, was at home around 1:55pm when Gomez forced his way through the door and forced the woman into her bedroom where he sexually assaulted and raped her. The woman then grabbed her gun and fired several times, eventually hitting Gomez in the foot.
Nebraska Hotel Shooting Proven To Be Self-Defense
NORTH PLATTE, NEBRASKA – On September 18th, a shooting between two friends was proven to be a self-defense case. The man who was shot did not succumb to the gunshot wounds but was being treated for serious injuries at the Nebraska Medical Center.
The man who opened fire was living in a hotel and had a friend over for a meal. After a little time of drinking, the friend who was visiting became aggressive.

Oklahoma Man Shoots Suspected Burglar Dead
TULSA, OKLAHOMA – An Oklahoma man shot and killed a suspected burglar who was attempting to break into his apartment. The incident occurred around 2:00 a.m. September 4.
The homeowner immediately cooperated with law enforcement and said that he opened fire on another man who was entering his apartment.
The alleged burglar was found dead at the bottom of a staircase with a gunshot wound. However, there was allegedly one other suspect who fled the scene and has not yet been tracked down.

Teen Home Invasion Suspect Shot By Elderly Homeowner
AKRON, OHIO — A 16-year-old burglary suspect, attempting to commit a home invasion, was shot by a 74-year-old homeowner. The shooting occurred early on the morning of March 29th at a residence in the 700 block of Johnson Street in Akron.
Police were notified at around 7:26 am of the incident at the Johnson Street residence, located east of state Route 8 and Lumiere Street and west of Hammel Street. Police located the suspect inside the residence with multiple gunshot wounds.

Two Women, One Holding Child, Robbed At Gunpoint By Three Men
HOUSTON, TEXAS — Two women with a young boy were walking to their vehicle when they were robbed at gun point by three men.
On Saturday August 27, 2022, two women were walking toward their vehicle near the 1000 block of Almeda Gonea when two men jumped out a newer looking grey sedan. The two men were holding pistols and pointed them at the women. One of the women was forced to surrender her purse, and the other woman grabbed her son and ran away.

Woman Shoots Attacker Dead During Wild Incident At Work
PASADENA, TEXAS — A man is dead after allegedly attacking a woman and her co-worker at their place of employment. This occurred around 12:15 a.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2022 in the 1400 block of South Houston Road.
Police say a woman was exiting a business when she noticed a man banging on her car windows. The man was also yelling at the employee, who later told police that she did not know or recognize him.

Homicide Victim May Have Been Defending Himself
MOBILE, ALABAMA — Officers responded to a shots fired call around 1:07 AM on August 24th in Mobile, Alabama. When they arrived at the Hillsdale Community Center at 558 Felhorn Road East, they found a 28-year-old man who stated that he had been shot.
The victim was transported to the hospital, where he later died of his injuries. The identity of the victim has since been confirmed as Jamar Rogers. Officers believe he was shot while acting in self-defense.

Fatal North Escambia Apartment Shooting Ruled Self-Defense
ESCAMBIA COUNTY, FLORIDA – On Thursday, Aug. 11 around 6:20 p.m., police were called to a shooting at an apartment complex.
The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office was called to Oakwood Terrace Apartments off Truman Avenue for a report of a shooting. When deputies arrived, they found a man shot inside an apartment.
According to the ECSO, the man died from his injuries. The identity of the deceased has not been released.

Masked Intruder Shot Dead By Wisconsin Resident During Home Invasion
MADISON, WISCONSIN – A masked intruder was shot to death by a resident in Madison, WI on Friday August 26. A man, a woman, and a girl were in the residence at the time of the shooting and no one else, other than the intruder, was hurt.
Police were called on to the scene and the man of the residence escorted law enforcement to the lifeless intruder in the home and was cooperative.

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS — A carjacker is in the hospital after he was shot by a concealed carry license holder early Monday morning. The incident occurred at around 1:25 am in the 5500 block of West Crystal Street in North Austin on the West Side.
The armed citizen was sitting in his car on West Crystal Street when the suspect fired on the victim, according to Chicago Police. The CCL holder was able to return fire and struck the suspect in the chest.

NEZPERCE, IDAHO — A man was shot and killed by a homeowner after illegally entering the home and refusing to leave, according to police.
Around 9:40 p.m. on May 13th, Damien S. Giles left his truck and entered a home. The home was not locked and Giles entered without force. The homeowner, hearing a noise, left his bedroom with his pistol. He found Giles slumped over in a chair, and the homeowner proceeded to tell Giles to leave his house.

Armed Citizen Runs Down And Shoots Atlanta Stabbing Suspect
ATLANTA, GEORGIA – A Good Samaritan who witnessed a stabbing in Atlanta ran down the suspect and shot him on Monday August 15. According to law enforcement, the man who was stabbed eventually succumbed to his stab wounds at Grady General Hospital, but they also found a man shot down the street.

Woman Shoots 13-Year-Old Trying To Break Into Her Vehicle
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS — According to local police, on Friday July 29, 2022, at approximately 7:59PM, a 34 year old woman responded to a group of four to five would-be car thieves attempting to break into her parked car.
While confronting the gang of thieves, one of the criminals, a 13 year old boy, brandished a pistol and pointed it at her. The woman, a concealed carrier, drew and fired her own gun, striking the boy in the neck.

Pennsylvania Woman Shoots Boyfriend, Claims Self-Defense
JESSUP, PENNSYLVANIA – A woman shot her boyfriend Thursday August 11, 2022 in a community northeast of Scranton and he is now facing charges of assault and harassment.
Law enforcement in Lackawanna County were told by the girlfriend that the man, identified as Eric Stepkovich, threw her to the ground and that she was fearful for her life.
Stepkovich was shot in the leg by the girlfriend at the home they shared.

Knife Attacker Shot By Armed Condo Resident
BULLHEAD CITY, ARIZONA — On Sunday, August 7th, just before 4:30AM, a resident at the Marina Villas Riverfront Condos at 1800 Clubhouse Drive in Bullhead City, Arizona, noticed a man in a black hoodie wearing a mask with the hood up wandering around, and looking into car windows.
He confronted the man, who said that he was just looking for cigarettes. The resident then told him to leave. The suspect refused to leave, and eventually threw a rock at the resident, who was armed with a bat for self-defense.

Road Rage Leads To Self-Defense Shooting In Washington
FEDERAL WAY, WASHINGTON — Police received a report of a hit and run accident in the 800 block of S. 320th Street in Federal Way at 12:15 PM on Monday, August 8th. While officers were enroute, they received information that the drivers had stopped in the roadway and were fighting.
At some point during the altercation, one of the subjects retrieved a firearm from his vehicle and fired at a 35-year-old Federal Way resident.

PICKAWAY COUNTY, OHIO — A man is dead after a homeowner shot and killed him during a home invasion, according to police.
According to initial reports, a man broke into a home in the 1100 block of Thrailkill Road in Pickaway County, Ohio just before midnight on Sunday July 24, 2022.
A 911 Caller told dispatchers that an intruder entered through a side door in the home and was attempting to “burglarize” the house.

Woman Shoots Man During Assault In Atlanta
ATLANTA, GEORGIA — A woman defended herself, shooting a man in the leg during an assault after running away from her assailant, according to police.
Shortly after 2 a.m., police say the incident began inside an apartment. The woman involved in the incident proceeded to run away to a Publix parking lot where she shot the man in the leg after he gave chase. Police believe that she shot the man while he attempted to assault her.
