Gun Meme of the Day: Slippery Upward Slope Edition
It’s a slippery slope, but at least we’re moving in the correct direction.

Things That Don’t Suck: 1791 Gunleather’s Kydex IWB Holster
By Tim Stetzer
I’ve been carrying a pistol concealed for over 30 years now as both a cop and a civilian. Over that time I’ve tried a lot of carry methods and various brands and styles of holsters.
Like many of you, I have a bin of hardly-used holsters, and that’s after giving a lot of them away over the years. With all the trial and error though I have found that works best for me is a low profile, inside the waistband (IWB) rig with a good clip that I can easily put on and take off.
NYSRPA v. Bruen Finally Gives Gun Owners What They’ve Been Waiting For
[ED: TTAG contributor and member of the Supreme Court bar, LKB, has perused today’s NYSRPA v. Bruen decision and gives us his best assessment of what this means for gun rights now and could mean in the future.]
By LKB
That popping sound you may have heard at 10:41 AM Eastern this morning was thousands of anti-2A minds being blown simultaneously. The wailing you’ve been hearing since that’s emanating from various liberal neighborhoods, newsrooms, universities, and blue state government officials is indeed the lamentation of the women.
Why Does Joy Behar Belittle Black Americans Who Own Guns to Protect Their Families?
Joy Behar of ABC’s ‘The View’ appears to possess an unfortunate ignorance of African-Americans and their desire for the God-given right to safety. Here attitude seems to border on bigotry. Sadly, that’s a pattern for Behar.
“Here’s the thing: once black people get guns in this country, the gun laws will change. Trust me,” Behar said recently on the show, raising her voice over black guest host and gun owner Lindsey Granger.

BREAKING: Supreme Court Strikes Down New York’s ‘May Issue’ Concealed Carry Law
The United States Supreme Court has struck down New York’s “proper cause” or “may issue” requirement for obtaining concealed carry permits in a 6 to 3 opinion handed down today in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen. This is the case that was a second bite at the apple, challenging New York’s “may issue” concealed carry restrictions after the case that was argued in 2019 was declared moot when the New York changed its laws to avoid an adverse high court ruling.
Kendi: The Fight for Gun Rights is the Fight for the Freedom to Enslave
There is a link between the “freedom to enslave” and the “freedom to have guns,” according to Boston University Professor Ibram Kendi.
Kendi…told host Margaret Brennan that “throughout the nation’s history, there’s been two perspectives on freedom, really two fights for freedom.”
“Enslaved people were fighting for freedom from slavery, and enslavers were fighting for the freedom to enslave, and in many ways, that sort of contrast still exists today,” Kendi said.
Gun Meme of the Day: Concealed Carry Virgins Edition
Probably pretty accurate during one’s obligatory “Walmart Walk.” The second time, too. Takes a while, eh?

Shooting the Genesis Arms Gen-12 AR-10 Shotgun Conversion Upper
Genesis Arms created the 12 gauge conversion for the AR-10 platform. Swap the upper, beef up your magazine catch, bolt catch (reverse compatible with regular AR-10s) and grab a Gen-12 magazine and your long-range AR-10 just became a versatile short range blaster.
I’ve been following Genesis Arms for a few years now and done my best to keep up with their advances. They recently hosted a range day just outside of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho so I made the drive from Oregon to catch up with them.
Uvalde Proves, Once and for All, That At Least Some Teachers and Staff In Every School Must Be Armed
After a high profile shooting like the massacre at the elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, it’s not uncommon for a lot of bad information to come out in the media and even from investigators who don’t yet have a handle on what happened. That’s why we usually add warnings to our initial reports when these things happen. Too many people jump to too many conclusions in the chaos that later turn out to be dead wrong.
One Texan’s Message for John Cornyn After Caving to Democrats on Gun Control
By LKB
Recently, I sent a message to my sellout Texas Senator, John Cornyn. Inter alia, I pointed out that while I have supported him for decades (going back to his Texas Supreme Court races), his caving to the Democrats on gun rights meant I will never do so again.
Here is the canned response I received yesterday (apparently sent after he’s starting to realize that the blowback is real) .
City of Brooklyn Center Agrees to Pay Daunte Wright’s Family $3.2 Million in Wrongful Death Settlement
From the Associated Press . . .
A suburban Minneapolis city has agreed to pay $3.2 million to the family of Daunte Wright, who was fatally shot by a police officer who said she confused her gun for her Taser.
The tentative settlement also includes changes in police policies and training involving traffic stops like the one that resulted in Wright’s death, according to a statement Tuesday night from attorneys representing Wright’s family.
The Latest Target in the Biden Administration’s War on America’s Gun Owners: AR-15 Ammunition
President Joe Biden doesn’t like a lot of things about guns. He castigates modern sporting rifles (MSRs), as “weapons of war.” He’s also pretty angry about privately made firearms PMFs – or those scary “ghost guns,” that have existed since before America was founded. Forget accessories. Standard capacity magazines completely creep him out.
None of that, though, makes him as angry as ammunition. President Biden really doesn’t like it at all. There’s no other way to explain why he and his administration are determined to tangle with ammunition.
John Cornyn Delivers A Bipartisan Senate Gun Control Bill Anti-Gun Democrats Can Love
You know how gun right orgs are always criticized and ridiculed for claiming that anything that moves toward more gun control is just a first step on a slippery slope to civilian disarmament? Yeah, well there’s a good reason for those warnings.
Democrats and their accomplices in the Civilian Disarmament Industrial Complex and the media (but I repeat myself) have pushed for decades, working around the edges to limit, to ban, to inconvenience, and to harass firearm owners and trim their Second Amendment rights.
Biden to Anti-Gun Governors: Pass More Gun Control Laws! Ban All the Things!
By Lee Williams
The Biden-Harris administration is telling sympathetic Democratic governors to pass more gun control legislation with the apparent belief that if more states pass restrictive anti-gun bills, it will be easier for the administration to push for similar legislation at the federal level.
The White House has already contacted governors in New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Rhode Island, Connecticut, California and Delaware. The bills they have come up with are similar in concept and some even use similar language.
Rifles and a Ballistic Shield: The Uvalde Shooting Police Response Story Changes…Again
From the AP . . .
Multiple police officers armed with rifles and at least one ballistic shield stood and waited in a school hallway for nearly an hour while a gunman carried out a massacre of 19 elementary students and two teachers, according to a Monday news report that marks the latest embarrassing revelation about the failure of law enforcement to thwart the attack.
The officers with heavier firepower and tactical equipment were there within 19 minutes of the gunman arriving on campus — earlier than previously known, according to documents reviewed by the Austin American-Statesman and KVUE-TV.
The New Rules: Only Anti-Gun Groups Are Allowed To Use Fear to Market Their Product
A recent op-ed at the New York Times explores the marketing of firearms. The Gray Lady is horrified that the firearms industry works to “target buyers with rhetoric of fear, machismo and defiance.” As the three-man team who braved the wilds of the internet to report the terrifying details have uncovered . . .
Gun companies have spent the last two decades scrutinizing their market and refocusing their message away from hunting toward selling handguns for personal safety, as well as military-style weapons attractive to mostly young men.
The White House Issues A Non-Denial Denial of Our Lake City AR-15 Ammunition Story
It seems that our story on the Biden administration’s big brain idea for putting the screws to America’s AR-15 owners has caught the attention of someone who has full command of his mental faculties at the White House. The story is evidently of enough concern that White House Deputy Press Secretary Andrew Bates felt the need to issue this tweet today . . .
This story isn’t true. We will not let this plant close.
New York’s New Body Armor Ban Doesn’t Cover the Plate Carrier Worn by the Buffalo Supermarket Killer
By Maysoon Khan, AP
New York’s new law barring sales of bullet-resistant vests to most civilians doesn’t cover the type of armor worn by the gunman who killed 10 people at a Buffalo supermarket, a gap that could limit its effectiveness in deterring future military-style assaults.
During the May 14 attack, Payton Gendron wore a steel-plated vest, an armor strong enough to stop a handgun round fired by a store security guard who tried to halt Gendron’s rampage.
How Many Russian Invaders Will Ukrainian Soldiers Kill With Zip Guns From Miami?
By Kevin Sona and Lee Williams
When the Miami Police Department’s “GUNS 4 UKRAINE” gun buyback first began Saturday morning, the public and members of the pro-gun media were allowed to stand next to three tents where the transactions were taking place.
However, when it became obvious that turnout was poor and the event was fizzling, police started pushing onlookers back farther and farther away – a total of eight times.
