From Remington . . .
Remington Ammunition along with sister brand Federal Ammunition is proudly sending a check of $100,000 to support crisis relief efforts in the war-torn country of Ukraine. A t-shirt campaign to support Ukrainian refugees generated a great response, with proceeds from the sales reaching the $100K milestone in less than two months.
“This campaign and the tremendous response exceeded our expectations, forcing several re-orders of the t-shirts,” said Jason Vanderbrink, President of Remington, Federal, CCI, and Speer Ammunition.
Massad Ayoob On the Philando Castile Shooting and What To Do If You’re Stopped By Police
In a recent video, Wilson Combat hosted Massad Ayoob, who provided advice based on the tragic death of Philando Castile. For those unfamiliar, a police officer shot and killed Castile while he was lawfully carrying a concealed pistol with a permit. His death resulted in a politically and racially-charged multi-way feud between the “back the blue” crowd, gun rights activists, and people concerned with the rate of police killings of African Americans.
Many of weren’t sure where to stand on this, especially early on when details were sketchy and incomplete.
Sacramento Wants You to Turn In Your Gun for a $50 Gas Card
“Sacramento police want your guns in exchange for gas money,” says a May 6 Sacramento Bee headline. The department asks residents to give away their firearms, which the Second Amendment authorizes them to keep and bear, for a $50 gas gift card that would not even provide a fill-up for many vehicles.
The department claims it will not ask any questions or demand identification, but it is unlikely that any criminals will be handing over firearms.
Buffalo Shooter Reportedly Chose a New York Target Because of the State’s Gun Control Laws
The officially unidentified shooter who opened fire at a Buffalo, New York grocery store reportedly published a racist, anti-semitic 180-page manifesto justifying his efforts to “show to the replacers that as long as the White man lives, our land will never be theirs and they will never be safe from us.”
The manifesto, which hasn’t yet been confirmed as being authored by the Buffalo shooter, identifies the author as 18-year-old Payton Gendron from Southern Tier, New York.

A Look Inside Remington’s Lonoke Ammunition Plant
Earlier this week I got a tour of Beretta’s manufacturing facility in Gallatin, Tennessee. While I’ve never been to Remington’s Lonoke, Arkansas ammunition plant, I just ran across one of the videos in a series that Remington has produced in recent months that give you a peek at what their people do to keep you supplied with gun food. It’s good to see them busy and the machinery humming. Enjoy.

Brady’s Jonathan Lowy is Very Upset About the Gun Control Industry’s Latest Court Loss
This ruling is outrageous and without precedent. Americans have the right to enact strong laws to protect their families and communities from gun violence, and the Second Amendment was never intended to force us all to live in the gun lobby’s guns-for-everyone-and-everywhere dystopia.
It is not unreasonable for California to decide that teenagers who can’t legally buy a Michelob or a martini should not be able to buy a Glock or a Beretta.

The CDC Is Politicizing Violent Crime Data Involving Guns…Again…Still…
From the CCRKBA
A new report from the Centers for Disease Control focusing on a spike in gun-related violence pulls data out of context and demonstrates how the CDC is “up to its old tricks” under the Biden administration, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms said today.
“All violent crime was up in 2020, the year on which the CDC research focused,” said CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb.
Gear Review: RCBS Chargemaster Supreme Electronic Powder Dispenser
I started reloading back when we were still hiding under our school desks to protect ourselves from Brezhnev’s A-bombs.
My RCBS beam-style powder scale isn’t much younger than that. I still load thousands of rounds every year with it and a pair of RCBS single stage presses from the same era. In fact, almost all of the basic reloading gear I have is from RCBS, and all of it is many decades old.
Junk Science: Johns Hopkins Uses Bogus Data to Claim Constitutional Carry Results in More Police Shootings
By Lee Williams
If you didn’t know any better, the headline on a press release published Wednesday by Johns Hopkins’ Bloomberg School of Public Health could appear damning: “Study Finds Link Between Dropping Permit Requirement for Carrying Concealed Weapons and Increase in Officer-Involved Shootings with Civilian Victims.”
The Trace – the propaganda arm of former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s anti-gun empire – was as excited and breathless as a young pup in their response to the press release .
Technology: Using the Urban Dictionary to Solve Gun Crimes
Detectives sometimes use Urban Dictionary to translate slang when investigating deadly gun crimes.
Pole, strap, gat, drill, stick, glizzy and metal are all words used to describe guns.
A “stain” is another word for a robbery, according to Andy McDermott, a former Aurora detective who led multiple gun investigations during his police career.
“Some of it is stylization, or it’s cool, kind of like an ‘in thing’ to have these different words for firearms.

Made in ‘Merica: Behind the Scenes At Beretta’s Gallatin, Tennessee Factory
When you’ve been making guns for just short of 500 years — that’s half a millenium, folks — you learn a thing or two about manufacturing. Touring Beretta’s Gallatin, Tennessee factory northeast of Nashville makes that abundantly clear, even if you’re woefully ignorant about all things mechanical.
One of the benefits of writing about guns is you get to see how a lot of them are made. That ranges from relatively small shops to large industrial operations.

Senators Threaten Court-Packing – Again – As Americans Embrace Their Second Amendment Rights
The unauthorized leak of a draft abortion opinion from the U.S. Supreme Court has Democrats up in arms (again) about packing the U.S. Supreme Court. This isn’t a new argument and one gun control advocates publicly pitched before.
Senators are openly calling for court-packing again and that’s before the Supreme Court has rendered a final opinion on New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen or finalized the opinion of the leaked abortion draft decision.
The Trace’s Anti-Gun Agitprop Now Featured in the ‘Los Angles Times’ Disguised as News
By Lee Williams
The Los Angeles Times is a real newspaper, unlike USA Today, which most people step over while leaving a hotel room. During its more than 140 years, the Los Angeles Times has earned 48 Pulitzers. It has a daily print circulation of 1.2 million readers, and a weekly print and digital circulation of 4.4 million.
That’s why it is somewhat surprising that the Times copied USA Today’s ethical blunder by allowing anti-gun activists from the Trace to publish unedited propaganda disguised as real news.
CA’s Age-Based Discrimination Banning Semi-Auto Rifle Sales to Adults Under 21 Was Always Unconstitutional
America would not exist without the heroism of the young adults who fought and died in our revolutionary army. Today we reaffirm that our Constitution still protects the right that enabled their sacrifice: the right of young adults to keep and bear arms. …
As to the semiautomatic rifle ban, we part company with the district court. Strict scrutiny applies. The main difference between this ban and the long gun regulation is the exceptions.
