Gun Meme of the Day: Arming The Taliban Edition
Spoiler alert: all of the memes this week will be on this same topic. Why?…
That’s what we left behind (that we know of and admit to). I guess one of our chief advantages in the region — the ability to operate at night as the only ones on the ground who could see in the dark — is now gone. Then again, so are we.

About Those SIG P320 Lawsuits . . .
Like many of our readers, we’ve been watching the slow drip, drip, drip of lawsuits accumulate over the past couple of years against SIG Sauer. These suits allege that their ultra-popular P320 pistol can fire without the trigger being pulled. Some of the plaintiffs claim the pistol can fire without the trigger even being touched.
The latest of these suits was filed last week in US District Court in Massachusetts. It alleges that Walter Collette, Jr., a police officer with the Somerville (Mass.) Police Department, was wounded when his P320 duty gun discharged “without a trigger pull” while he was carrying it in a gym bag “wrapped carefully with a cloth.” Officer Collette was wounded in his left leg.

Capitol Police Officer’s Explanation for Shooting and Killing Ashli Babbitt Is Riddled With Problems
When the Capitol Hill riot — or the “insurrection” as the mainstream media like to refer to it — took place on January 6th, conservatives questioned why Ashli Babbitt was shot and killed. Babbitt was a veteran who was unarmed and was shot to death by Capitol Police Lt. Michael Byrd.
Up until now, I have given the unidentified officer the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he thought she had a gun. Maybe he thought she had a knife or another type of weapon.

“When it comes down to it, it’s just a sense of disappointment that the bill ultimately was passed,” Kevin Lawrence, executive director of the Texas Municipal Police Association, told the Texas Tribune.

OMG! ‘Futurism’ Discovers That 3D Printed Guns Are Really a Thing! OMG!
Regulators and law enforcement are now in a fierce battle trying to get ahead of the trend — but have been able to do only very little, with gun violence rising in several parts of the country where ghost guns are illegal, as Vice reports.
It’s a problem on an international scale as well. In April, Spanish police raided a warehouse where weapons were being printed.
It’s a dangerous trend that allows practically anybody to assemble their own untraceable guns.

Joe Biden Arms the Taliban While Banning Ammunition for Americans
From Gun Owners of America . . .
Aidan Johnston, Director of Federal Affairs for Gun Owners of America (GOA), released the following statement today:
The Biden Administration’s failure to competently draw down American forces in Afghanistan has allowed the Taliban to acquire nearly 600,000 American weapons. But instead of triaging the catastrophe, and bringing Americans – military and civilian – home, the Biden State Department is trying to score political points.
Woke Army Sergeant Has No Qualms About Shooting Her Fellow Americans UPDATED
Joe Biden’s disastrous appointments to run the U.S. military have brought plenty of “woke” diversity and inclusion to the branches of the US military. Not only that, but they’ve worked to purge conservatives, who the brass believe to be dangerous racists and extremists, at the same time.
So it probably shouldn’t be too much of a surprise that one of the Commander in Chief’s troops hopped on TikTok — while in uniform — to inform her fellow Americans that her weapon will be pointed at them if she’s ever deployed within the USA.

By Meg Kinnard and Denise Lavoie, AP

A unanimous three-judge panel of the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond rejected arguments that the young white man should have been ruled incompetent to stand trial in the shootings at Mother Emanuel AME Church in Charleston.
