Toledo Woman Shoots Would-Be Home Invader ‘Multiple Times’

Sun, 08/22/2021 - 10:00

The Centers for Disease Control acknowledges that there are somewhere between 60,000 and 2.5 million defensive gun uses in this country every year. Each one is a robbery, assault, rape or murder prevented. The great majority of the time, it happens without a shot being fired.

Strangely enough, our friends who toil away in the Civilian Disarmament Industrial Complex never want to talk about these lawful uses of firearms to prevent crimes. Do you ever wonder why that is?

Quick Hits: Triad Tactical Shooting Gear

Sat, 08/21/2021 - 15:00

I’ve been a long range shooter for most of my life. It would be fair to say that I’ve been around the block on this stuff, and I’ve seen trends come and go in my time as a writer. What hasn’t changed much is the need for top-shelf support gear for these rifles and few do it better than Triad Tactical.

A Brief History of Triad Tactical

Triad Tactical was founded in 2001.

The NRA Convention is Threatened Again as Many of the Largest Industry Exhibitors Pull Out

Sat, 08/21/2021 - 12:00

The National Rifle Association has a lot of problems on its hands. Aside from the now familiar allegations of cronyism and corruption, the NRA was forced to cancel its annual meeting and exhibits in Nashville last year. That was a huge financial hit for the association, given that the the event routinely draws 65,000 to 80,000 people each year depending on the location and venue capacity.

This year’s NRAAM is scheduled for September 3, 4 and 5 in Houston.

Amid a Historic Shortage, Joe Biden Hypocritically Blocks the Importation of All Russian Ammunition

Sat, 08/21/2021 - 08:00

You know that Wolf, TulAmmo, and Bernaul ammunition you have stashed in the back of your closet? Soon it will become a collectable of sorts, kind of like the old Norinco ChiCom ammo from twenty years ago. Thanks to the great statesman occupying the White House, further importation will stop, probably some time in the next year or so. The same goes for Russian-made firearms.

On Friday, August 20th, Joe Biden signed an executive order blocking the importation of all Russian-made firearms and ammo.

Shoot a Hog, Save the Planet

Fri, 08/20/2021 - 14:00

By Mark Oliva

Celebrating National Shooting Sports Month doesn’t have to be just a range activity. Hunters can get into the game too and while they’re at it, lend a helping hand to conservation and fight climate change.

That’s right. Hunters go can green and not just wear green by hunting hogs.

At least 12 states allow year-round hog hunting. They stretch coast-to-coast, from California to Virginia and Texas to Wisconsin.

Two Anti-Hunting Groups Use Covid to Try to Radically Limit Hunting Across the United States

Fri, 08/20/2021 - 10:50

By Lawrence G. Keane

Two anti-hunting groups are making a move to kill hunting. They’re looking to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) and Department of the Interior (DOI) to publish a rule that would eliminate transporting harvested wild animals and most birds across state lines.

It is the most serious threat to hunting in the United States since Dan Ashe, former USFWS director, attempted to ban the use of traditional ammunition on federal lands.

Senate Democrats Introduce Legislation Taking Direct Aim at Armslist

Fri, 08/20/2021 - 10:00

Senate Democrats are now seeking revenge on behalf of their friends in Silicon Valley. Just days after Armslist filed a lawsuit against Facebook and Instagram over being deplatformed, Sens. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), and Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) introduced legislation “to hold accountable online gun marketplaces that allow illegal gun sales to be conducted on their platforms.”

The legislation, dubbed “The Accountability for Online Firearms Marketplaces Act,” specifically named Armslist as a reason to repeal Section 230 protections for online marketplaces that market firearms and accessories.

The Truth Increasingly Loses When Facts Conflict With a Good Narrative

Fri, 08/20/2021 - 08:00

It is simply not debatable that the claims of many popular modern movements are far removed from reality. BLM’s contentions about a near-genocide of African Americans directed by police may be the best example of this.

To give only two famous examples out of dozens, Black Trans Lives Matter activist Cherno Biko stated on prime-time television in 2015 that an innocent Black person is “murdered” by American police “every 28 hours,” while star attorney Benjamin Crump hinted at an even higher total in a 2019 book he titled Open Season: The Legalized Genocide of Colored People.

Gear Review: SB Tactical SBPDW Pistol Stabilizing Brace

Thu, 08/19/2021 - 17:00

SB Tactical is to be one of my favorite companies in the firearms industry. They invented the pistol stabilizing brace and continue to improve and refine the design for a ton of different firearms. Their products are extremely well made and continue to chap the hide of the anti-civil rights crowd.

One of their latest is the SBPDW. PDW, of course, stands for Personal Defense Weapon, and PDW stocks have become quite popular with the short-barreled rifle crowd.

House Bill Would Mandate ‘Safe Storage’ of Guns in Your Home..And Weaken the PLCAA

Thu, 08/19/2021 - 15:00

By Larry Keane

There they go again. Antigun Democrats introduced legislation to force Americans to lock up their firearms in their homes. It’s another one-size-fits-all mandate from the government. The U.S. Constitution would like a word.

U.S. Rep. Donald McEachin (D-Va.) is no stranger to gun control. He’s backed nearly every antigun bill introduced in Congress. He believes in gun control so much, he suggested in 2019 that Virginia’s Democratic Gov.

LAST CHANCE: The ATF Comment Period on Rule Redefining Firearms Ends at Midnight

Thu, 08/19/2021 - 11:00

The public comment period on the ATF’s proposed rule that would redefine what a firearm is expires at midnight tonight. If adopted, the rule would define an upper receiver, slide, or barrel as a firearm at the ATF’s discretion. Other parts may fall under the new regulation, too.

That means these parts would have to be serialized and regulated — with background checks — just as lowers are now. There’s much more to the proposed rule so click here for a more complete rundown of what it would do.

The Taliban and Joe Biden Agree – Civilians Don’t Need to Own Firearms

Wed, 08/18/2021 - 16:00

By Lee Williams

On Monday throughout Kabul, teams of Taliban terrorists started going door-to-door searching for our former allies, young girls and, of course, personally owned firearms.

Our allies were disappeared. Their fate was sealed. Some have been shot, hung and beaten to death. Their bodies usually turn up on a dusty road several days after they were taken for their families to bury.

The girls — including many under 12 — are forced to marry Taliban terrorists.

Gun Review: HK SL8-6 Rifle

[ED: Last week HK announced that they’ll be bringing back the SL8 rifle, the import-legal version of their G36. The reintroduced SL8’s MSRP is $1699 ($1749 for the California-legal version). For those unfamiliar with the SL8 we’re republishing Joe Grine’s excellent review of this…interesting rifle.]

As we’ve all learned – some more quickly than others — elections have consequences. No one should be surprised by the Bidenharris administration’s move against gun rights.

Hunting in Africa: Unintended Consequences, or How I learned to Love the Zebra

Wed, 08/18/2021 - 10:30

Just like it was a few months prior, the KLM plane from Amsterdam to Johannesburg is almost completely empty. My two traveling companions, plus myself, make up a third of the passengers aboard the Boeing 777. We can take any seat we like, as long as it’s not in First Class, of course.

Last time, the purpose of my trip was a plains game safari. A lifelong dream come true. I highly recommend it.

Minneapolis Residents are Getting Exactly the Government They Voted For

Wed, 08/18/2021 - 08:00

This is not a manufactured crisis, nor one of sensationalized stories. The statistics are staggering. According to a May 20 meeting with local leaders, year-to-date homicides in 2021 have more than doubled compared to 2020. The police department has seized 100 fewer guns this year — approximately 300 total — compared to last year.

Gun thefts from vehicles are up more than 100 percent. The atrophied police department simply lacks the resources to chase them down.
