Ohio: Major Pro-Gun Reform Legislation Takes Effect

Tue, 03/24/2015 - 13:43

FROM NRA-ILA

Legislation from last session to allow for the use of firearm sound suppressors while hunting in the Buckeye State takes effect today (March 23, 2014).  As previously reported, hunting with suppressed firearms provides numerous benefits to sportsmen, including the elimination of noise complaints, reduction of recoil, increased accuracy and reduction of muzzle report to hearing-safe levels.

This new law also allows for the purchase and sale of shotguns and rifles in non-contiguous states, reforms the concealed carry process by reducing the number of training hours required from 12 hours to 8 hours and requires a chief law enforcement officer (CLEO) to sign off on an application to transfer an item regulated by the National Firearms Act.

The NRA thanks House Bill 234’s sponsor, Representative Cheryl Grossman (R-23), and everyone who helped finally pass this comprehensive pro-gun legislation.

BATF Director Resigns After Failed Ammo Ban Attempt

Sat, 03/21/2015 - 07:45

BY DANA CRISWELL

It was a surprise to everyone when BATF Director B. Todd Jones suddenly resigned on Friday, March 20.  It is unclear if the agencies failed attempt ban popular 5.56 ammo is the reason for his resignation, his statement simply said he was leaving the agency on March 31 to pursue opportunities in the private sector.

As gun owners celebrate the departure of an obviously anti-gun ATF director the question now becomes who will be his replacement.  It is likely that Jones was ousted by the Obama administration because he failed to ban 5.56 ammunition?  Obama will likely choose a replacement he believes will have better success at stripping gun rights from the American people.

Before the appointment of Jones the agency went seven years without a full-time leader.  It is likely that Obama will return to that model of leadership where temporary puppet leaders are assigned to run the BATF, that way the Senate has no control over the agency.

Gun owners should prepare for an all-out assault on their rights.  Be prepared because Obama is not done yet!

New Glock Pistol Debuts at NRA National Meeting – Maybe!

Fri, 03/13/2015 - 14:20

BY DANA CRISWELL

We spend so much time fighting for our gun rights and discussing gun laws that we sometimes forget to enjoy the freedom we have to own guns.  Guns are not only important for our freedom and liberty, they are also fun to shoot.   New guns get everyone excited we preorder, stand in line or some of us pay way too much to have the newest and best.  In January everyone at the SHOT Show flocked to the Glock table hoping to see the rumored single-stack 9mm.  We were all disappointed.

Now the rumors have returned with Glock’s announcement of a big event in less than 6 days.  Now everyone is speculating the presentation of the Glock 43, a single-stack 9mm not much larger than the popular .380 G42.

It is also rumored the new Glock will debut at the upcoming NRA National Meeting in Nashville, TN.  I will be there, will you?
