State Senator’s Response to Second Amendment Advocate Following Gun Control Rally Will Make Your Jaw Drop

Tue, 03/25/2014 - 15:07

Rhode Island state Sen. Josh Miller (D-Cranston, Warwick) is under fire for telling a radio host to “go f***” himself after he confronted him over the Second Amendment following a March 18 gun control event.

Dan Bidondi, host of “Truth Radio Show,” is seen on video approaching the lawmaker with an InfoWars microphone.

“The Second Amendment shall not be infringed, you people need to understand that,” Bidondi says.

“Go f*** yourself,” Miller replies.

A man who was taking photos of the state senator then leans into the mic and adds: “Yeah, go f*** yourself.”

Watch the video below (content warning! Strong language):

Miller apologized on Tuesday for cursing at Bidondi during a press conference following a rally for tighter gun control at the statehouse. He called the radio host a representative for a “website notorious for conspiracy theories.”

Luckily, there was a customer carrying a concealed firearm nearby. The man reportedly drew his gun and ordered the suspect to drop the syringe.

Police arrested Joshua J. Silva, 26, shortly after the violent altercation on Monday night. He was charged with second-degree retail fraud and assault with intent to do great bodily harm, a felony. Th

Listen to Superintendent Explain Why He Refuses to Remove Workbook With Outrageous Definition of Second Amendment

Mon, 03/24/2014 - 19:23

The superintendent of Springfield Public Schools told 970 WMAY on Monday that he doesn’t plan to remove a workbook that contains an outrageous definition of the Second Amendment, despite the outrage it has generated among parents.

The workbook, currently being utilized by seventh-graders at Grant Middle School in Springfield, Ill., teaches students that the Second Amendment gives people the “right to certain weapons, providing that they register them and they have not been in prison.”

Superintendent Bob Hill told 970 WMAY that the workbook is not the only resource that provides a definition of the Second Amendment and argued that the interpretation found in the material teaches students “what happens with the right to bear arms in the context of 2014.”

He argued that “no place in the book does it portray that that is the Second Amendment — it’s a study guide summary of the Se

Gun Control Groups Are Furious a Disney Exec. Would Dare Hold Fundraisers for These…Democrats?

Mon, 03/24/2014 - 12:25

A Disney executive has caught fire from several anti-gun groups for scheduling a fundraiser at his home for two vulnerable Democratic senators going into the 2014 midterms who voted against a bill last year to expand background checks on gun buyers.

Is the GOP Suicidal?

Mon, 03/24/2014 - 09:22

Leave it to the Republican Party to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

While nearly every poll definitively affirms that Democrats are in deep doo-doo come November, and as leftist talking heads like Chris Matthews have already conceded a likelihood that Republicans will take the Senate in the 2014 mid-term elections, many of the GOP’s highest profile personalities obtusely refuse to take yes for an answer. They’re evidently hell-bent on disenfranchising the party’s pejoratively tagged “social issues” majority.

Stupid, stupid and stupid.

Bill Maher Grills Progressive Lawmaker: ‘Common-Sense Gun Safety Is Bulls***’, Dems Need to ‘Come Out Against the Second Amendment’

Fri, 03/21/2014 - 23:32

Though many disagree with him on a plethora of issues, HBO’s Bill Maher has a track record for being entirely upfront about what he believes. On Friday, he went as far as to press a far-left progressive Democrat over why his party refuses to fully “come out against the Second Amendment.”

Maher accused some Democrats of acting as the “Republican-lite” party and failing to distinguish themselves as drastically different from the GOP.

Rep. Keith Ellison (R-Minn.) said he wishes that the Democrats would oppose the Second Amendment, but Maher repeatedly pushed the lawmaker to go further.

For example, when Ellison advocated for “common-sense” gun control measures, Maher immediately called him out.

“Common-sense gun safety is bulls**t,” Maher said.

Then, when Ellison recited the Democratic talking point on getting rid of “military-style assault weapons,” Maher argued getting rid of semi-automatic rifles would do “nothing” to curb gun violence because most “mass shootings” don’t involve those types of firearms.

Ellison explained that it takes a lot of “organizing” and effort to implement gun control and laid out a number of progressive steps that had to be taken to achieve that goal.

Middle School Workbook Reportedly Includes What Could Be the Most Outrageous Definition of the Second Amendment Yet

Fri, 03/21/2014 - 20:59

An Illinois father claims a workbook that teaches the Second Amendment comes with a requirement to register firearms was handed out to seventh-graders at a Springfield middle school, including his son.

An image posted on the Illinois Gun Owners Rights Facebook page shows a worksheet that defines the Second Amendment as the following:

“This amendment states that people have the right to certain weapons, providing that they register them and they have not been in prison. The founding fathers included this amendment to prevent the United States from acting like the British who had tried to take weapons away from the colonists.”

On Sunday, a man aggressively tried to open a window and appeared to have a gun. The barista kept the window locked, grabbed her gun and called police. The man took off before police arrived.

New Jersey CEO Takes a Stand Over Proposed Gun Control Bill, Warns Lawmakers ‘We Will Not Comply’ Just Like Connecticut

Thu, 03/20/2014 - 20:29

A New Jersey man warned a State Assembly committee last week that he and other gun owners in the state “will not comply” with a proposed gun control bill to further limit magazine capacity.

During the March 13 hearing, Anthony P. Colandro told lawmakers that the proposed bill would turn law-abiding gun owners into criminals overnight. Colandro is the CEO of Gun for Hire, a firearm training center in New Jersey, and expressed concern regarding what the law could do to his business.

If You Have a Tattoo Like His, Armed Police Might Just Show Up at Your Front Door

Wed, 03/19/2014 - 12:57

A shirtless man and an ill-placed tattoo resulted in armed officers responding to a home in a small Maine town Tuesday morning.

According to the Kennebec Journal, Michael Smith of Norridgewock was awakened by a tree removal company on his property and walked out shirtless to request they leave.

That’s when the workers thought they spotted a gun.

Technically, their eyes did not fool them. There was a gun — it just happened to be tattooed on Smith’s belly.

Gun Parts Store Owner Claims ATF Tried to Make a Secret Deal for the Names of His Customers

Wed, 03/19/2014 - 11:25

The CEO of a gun parts store in California on Monday accused the ATF of trying to obtain the names of nearly 5,000 of his customers by striking a secret deal with him.

Agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives “basically said, ‘Listen, we know you’re a legitimate business. We know you’re doing everything fine. Hand over the list of names, hand over this particular product that we have now deemed to be a firearm and everything’s going to be fine. Nobody will know about it. It will be swept under the rug,’” Ares Armor owner Dimitrios Karras said.

Karras, whose store was raided over the weekend by federal agents, made the claim during an interview on TheBlaze TV’s Real News. “‘Nobody’s going to know that you handed over these names.’”

The Second Amendment: A Symbol of Freedom or An Invitation to Violence?

Wed, 03/19/2014 - 08:30

You can largely determine where a person will fall in the debate over gun control and the Second Amendment based on their view of government and the role it should play in our lives.

Those who want to see government as a benevolent parent looking out for our best interests tend to interpret the Second Amendment’s “militia” reference as applying only to the military.

To those who see the government as inherently corrupt, the Second Amendment is a means of ensuring that the populace will always have a way of defending themselves against threats to their freedoms.

And then there are those who view the government as neither good nor evil, but merely a powerful entity that, as Thomas Jefferson recognized, must be bound “down from mischief by the chains of the Constitution.” To this group, the right to bear arms is no different from any other right enshrined in the Constitution, to be safeguarded, exercised prudently and maintained.

See the Offensive Sign Posted by S.C. Pub That Has Resulted in Some Really Ticked-Off Gun Owners

Tue, 03/18/2014 - 15:17

“NO CONCEALED WEAPONS ALLOWED. If you are such a loser that you feel a need to carry a gun with you when you go out, I do not want your business. Douchebag.”

That’s the message Backstreets Pub & Deli recently sent to gun owners with a sign posted in its store window. The backlash against the establishment, located in Clemson, S.C., was swift after the conservative website Twitchy posted several photos of the sign from Twitter.

The Washington Times reports that the pub has a one-star rating out of five on Yelp.com, “with pages upon pages of negative comments and reviews by Second Amendment supporters.”

NY Officials Won’t Be Happy to Learn What Gun Rights Advocates Did With Nearly One Thousand Gun Registration Forms

Mon, 03/17/2014 - 15:18

Gun rights advocates in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., reportedly burned nearly one thousand gun registration forms to ashes in a clear act of civil disobedience.

Under the hastily-passed SAFE Act, Gun owners have until April 15 to register their so-called semi-automatic rifles that fall under the state’s own definition of “military-style assault weapons.” The forms they burned are the very forms the state wants them to turn in registering their firearms.

Instead, gun owners rallied at the Saratoga-Wilton Elks Lodge 161 to torch the forms in a “symbolic protest,” the Post-Star reports.

Speaking before the New Jersey Law and Public Safety Committee on Thursday, 9-year-old competition shooter Shyanne Roberts spoke in opposition to a proposed bill that would further limit magazine capacity to 10 rounds.

In her speech, which earned thunderous applause from the audience, she presented the simplicity and common sense nature of the pro-gun argument in a way only a kid can.

“I am not a ‘gang banger or domestic terrorist’ as a certain vocal supporter of this bill claimed two weeks ago in the Star Ledger,” Roberts said. “This bill, if it becomes law, will severely impact me and a million other gun owners.”
