Nevada: Legislature Adjourns from 2023 Legislative Session

Last night, the Nevada Legislature adjourned sine die from its 2023 legislative session. This session, the Legislature once again passed anti-gun bills as they try to implement more California-style gun control. Fortunately, Governor Joe Lombardo promptly vetoed them in order to uphold the Second Amendment and protect the rights of law-abiding citizens.

Alaska: Legislature Adjourns from Pro-Second Amendment 2023 Session

On May 17th, the Legislature adjourned sine die from its 2023 legislative session. During this session, the Legislature passed NRA-backed House Bill 61, sponsored by Speaker Cathy Tilton, to protect Second Amendment rights during declared states of emergency. Sen. Scott Kawasaki sponsored and championed its companion, Senate Bill 63. Both bills enjoyed bipartisan support. HB 61 is currently on Gov. Dunleavy’s desk awaiting his signature.

Connecticut: Gun Control Legislation Nearing House Vote

Gun banners in Hartford have been busy all session cooking up a concoction of more gun control.  In a state where there is already a large buffet of gun laws, it’s time for Connecticut gun owners to say “Enough!”  There is no shortage of gun laws in the state, and this is nothing more than political pandering. Your immediate assistance is needed! It is imperative that you contact your representative NOW and urge them to OPPOSE HB 6667 which severely restricts the second amendment rights of law-abiding gun owners and sportsmen! Additionally, please share this alert with your family and friends, and ask them to do the same.

Minnesota: Legislature Adjourns from 2023 Legislative Session

On Monday, the Minnesota Legislature adjourned sine die from its 2023 legislative session. This session, anti-gun lawmakers unfortunately managed to pass Senate File 2909, to further criminalize private transfers of firearms and to suspend Second Amendment rights without due process of law, which Gov. Walz signed into law last week.

Pennsylvania: House Democrat Majority Passes Gun Control by Slimmest of Margins

The House Democrat Majority leadership carried through on one of their agenda items late Monday afternoon – attacking law-abiding gun owners.  There are only a couple of sticking points for the gun-grabbers leading the Pennsylvania House.  One of their bills went down to defeat, and the other was pulled back before a vote was taken, presumably for lack of support.  These bills will do nothing to enhance public safety and only serve to ensnare law-abiding gun owners.

Delaware: House Committee Passes Handgun Licensing Bill

Yesterday, the House Judiciary Committee voted 5-4 to pass Senate Substitute 1 for Senate Bill 2, to impose a Maryland-style “handgun qualified purchase card” and a handgun transfer registry. It could receive a House floor vote before the General Assembly adjourns on June 30th.

On Friday, the Missouri General Assembly adjourned sine die from its 2023 legislative session. Once again, the General Assembly failed to pass legislation to reduce arbitrary “gun-free zones” where law-abiding citizens are left defenseless.

Nevada: Final Votes Soon for Anti-Gun Bills

Today, the Assembly will hold a vote on Senate Bill 171, to expand prohibiting categories to include additional misdemeanor crimes. The Senate may also hold votes on Assembly Bill 354, to increase “gun-free zones” where law-abiding citizens are left defenseless, and Assembly Bill 355, to further deny Second Amendment rights to young adults.

Illinois: Gun Seizure Mandate Inserted Into Bill

Last week, the House gutted House Bill 676 and amended it to include anti-gun provisions, including mandating that law-enforcement seize firearms from those who have not been convicted of a disqualifying offense. The House then voted to pass this amended bill and sent it to the Senate. With the General Assembly scheduled to adjourn this week, the Senate may vote on HB 676 any day now.
