Biden’s Cutoff of Funds to Schools With Hunting Programs Will Make Mental Health Problems Worse
The law of unintended consequences (presumably at least those of the Republican Senators), however, prevailed and now many sportsmen and women view the administration’s move [to cut off funding to schools with hunting and archery programs] as a backdoor attack on the nation’s hunting and recreational shooting traditions and heritage.
Worse, many psychological health experts are warning that removing such programs that encourage outdoor activities will add to the nation’s mental health epidemic.
Three Doors Down – An Alabama Homeowner Drops an Ex-Beating Intruder in His Tracks
News4 out of Dothan, Alabama, reports that a man was shot and killed after he broke into a home on a Saturday afternoon and began assaulting an ex-girlfriend.
The Dothan Police Department reported Charles Kevin Sexton, 55, of nearby Ashford, was hunting for his ex-girlfriend and suspected she was hiding in the house. It turns out he was right. What he didn’t have the right to do was break down several doors in the home in his effort to find her.

Defending Against a Break-In: Homeowner Cleared After Seven Months

A homeowner was awakened at approximately 3 a.m. by a noise in his home and found an assailant entering through the second-floor master bathroom window. The kicker: The suspect used the man’s own ladder to access the second-floor window to burglarize the home.
The homeowner retrieved a handgun to protect his family and fired one round that struck the burglar as he entered through the window. The suspect fell and died immediately.

The Supreme Court’s ruling in NYSRPA v. Bruen threw the political project of gun regulation into question. Before Bruen, states could enact new kinds of gun restrictions if they passed a relatively stringent means-ends test. That is, if laws meaningfully reduced danger, while not too heavily burdening the right to self-defense, they were allowed. After Bruen, only gun controls actually in force in the founding era, and their close analogues, are permissible. Many fewer regulations will now pass the constitutional test.
