Rev. Franklin Graham, son of America’s Evangelist Billy Graham, is going to be headlining the Sunday morning event, which is designed to “encourage and enrich your Annual Meeting experience,” according to the gun lobby’s website.

What’s interesting about the choice of Franklin Graham is that he backed President Obama’s call for expanded bac

Kim Jong-un reportedly ordered one of his senior staff members to be executed by flame thrower.

Supreme Leader of North Korea Kim Jong-un recently ordered one of his senior officials to be executed by flamethrower.

The news comes from South Korean newspaper Chosun Ilbo, and claims O Sang-hon was burned alive because of his affiliation with Jong-un’s uncle, Jang Song-taek, who was executed last December for conspiring to overthrow his nephew, Washington Post reports.

According to Breitbart, a source from the North Korean Workers Party told the newspaper Sang-hon’s

Iowa Senate candidate’s campaign ad warns sexual predators he’ll ‘blow your balls off’ (VIDEO)

Thu, 04/10/2014 - 10:27

An Iowa Senate candidate issues a warning to sexual predators that he will “blow your balls off” if they come near his home and attempt to harm his family.

While the #GotBalls? is more or less an attempt for a long shot candidate to get attention, it’s backed by a very sad and eye-opening story.

Bob Quast is running on 10 main issues including protecting the Second Amendment, term limits and domestic abuse. The latter became a key issue after the grisly murder of his sister Lynnete in 1999 by her husband Thomas Craft. Quast’s political mission began in 2011, after Craft was released from prison.

Now Craft is an independent candidate running for Senate and his new campaign ad “addresses issues in Iowa while retaining a sense of humor,” Business Insider reports. Quast is eying Iowa Sen. Tom Harkin’s seat in the U.S. Senate.

FBI seizes two WWI artillery shells from teens at O’Hare airport (VIDEO & Pics)

Thu, 04/10/2014 - 09:54

FBI agents seized a pair of WWI artillery shells from two teens returning from a European field trip at O’Hare International Airport Monday night. The incident reportedly put the airport on high alert until officials determined that the shells were just rusty relics.

The Transportation Security Administration discovered the ordnance in checked bags returning from a flight from London that belonged to a 16- and 17-year-old waiting for a connecting flight to Seattle.

The teens and the munitions were passed off to the FBI and after a brief investigation it was determined the shells were inert and the teens were allowed to fly back to Seattle, without their souvenirs, the Chicago Tribune reports.

TSA explosives experts examined the military relics and determined they were French 77mm artill

When a retired Detroit nurse witnessed an angry mob beating a man last week, she didn’t simply turn away. Instead, she grabbed her gun, placed it in her coat pocket and went to intervene, which quite possibly saved the man’s life.

Steve Utash was driving down the street in his pick-up truck last Wednesday when 10-year-old David Harris stepped off of the curb and into the street. Utash accidentally struck the child with his vehicle, but when he stopped and got out to help him, as a local Fox affiliate reported, t

Rob Riggle’s Top Gun 2 Audition Tape (VIDEO)

Wed, 04/09/2014 - 20:48

Honest question: would a “Top Gun 2″ without any men-on-men four-way volleyball be better than the original, or was the hardbodied men-on-men action what made the original “Top Gun” so … timeless?

Besides, Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer are both pushing to making this movie happen. Do you really want to see a grey-haired version of that men-on-men business that there was so much of in the original?

I wonder who will be the enemy? ‘Cause if it’s not the Taliban then it’s going to seem a bit forced if it’s the Russians or the North Koreans or something. But last time I checked, dog fights with the Taliban have essentially all been completely one-sided. There’s … there’s not going to be much tension there.

Pro-gun journalist Emily Miller debates ‘smart guns’ (VIDEO)

Wed, 04/09/2014 - 19:44

Award-winning pro-gun journalist Emily Miller discussed Wednesday the issue of “smart gun” technology and the dangers it would present if law was passed that mandated their use.

Attorney General Eric Holder recently advocated smart gun technology to Congress, saying it would allow citizens to “have the ability to enjoy their Second Amendment rights, but at the same time decreasing the misuse of weapons…” Miller, however, argued the topic on Fox News, pointing out that the relying on technology in a time of crisis may yield unfavorable results, Fox News reports.

Smart gun technology is “not perfected and as you said, you know, you’ve got a bad guy coming in and you’re going to depend on… a battery operated bracelet to protect yourself? “ Miller said.

Miller went on to add that she has a gun safe with a biometric fingerprint scanner that never works, and believes traditional locks are the best way to secure a firearm.

Dashcam footage of New Mexico police pursuit, shooting of 72-year-old man (VIDEO)

Wed, 04/09/2014 - 19:44

The dashcam footage was recently released of the January 4 New Mexico officer-involved shooting of a 72-year-old suspect after he led police on a high-speed pursuit down the wrong side of the road.

Albert Urban, 72, hurtled past New Mexico State Police Officer Jonathan Wright, beginning a nearly eight-minute-long chase down I-25 that reached speeds up to 129 mph. Officers deployed spike strips and initiated a pit maneuver, sending Urban’s van flipping off the road. But after the vehicle righted itself Urban tried speeding away once again, and that’s when Wright shot Urban once in the arm, Santa Fe New Mexican reports.

Wright told investigators he shot Urban because “he feared that being struck by the van would result in death or great bodily harm.”

Urban, who is originally from New York, was transported to an area hospital to be treated for his wounds. According to Officer Mark Alsfeld, Urban “rambled” and believed he was in New York, saying his “mind don’t work as good as it used to.” Doctors said he had been suffering form “a cognitive disorder.”

San Miguel County District Attorney Richard Flores said Wright had been cleared in the shooting and that due to Urban’s state o

The popcorn cannon: Explosively delicious (VIDEO)

Wed, 04/09/2014 - 19:44

If you have an affinity for cannons and a hankering for popcorn, the popcorn cannon is just the high-pressure cooker for you.

A popcorn cannon houses water and kernels of corn inside a sealed iron drum. The drum is turned over high heat, which vaporizes the water inside and permeates the corn. Once the lid is opened, the corn pops and explodes out of the drum like a cannon, according to the video posted to YouTube.

Myth Busters tested out the popcorn cannon some time ago and found that while it took a little longer than expected to reach the optimal pressure, it still works well enough and makes for much more spherical popcorn.

Meet the new TrackingPoint AR-15 combat rifles (VIDEO)

Wed, 04/09/2014 - 18:49

TrackingPoint is rolling out of new line of AR-15 rifles equipped with their smart scope technology. More than just semi-auto rifles with a smart scope slapped on, these guns have a host of new features that takes things to a new level. The changes represent a shift from hunting rifles to military hardware.

The rifles are the TrackingPoint AR 556 and TrackingPoint AR 300, chambered for 5.56 NATO and 300 AAC Blackout, respectively. The smart scopes have a 2-12x magnification range.

When powered on, the smart scope works just like an AR-pattern rifle with a red dot sight. The trigger functions just like a standard trigger; take it off safe, get on target and fire. This allows the rifle to “just work” in an urgent situation. The technology won’t interfere with the gun’s ability to work like a “dumb” rifle.

U.S. Air Force’s ‘BATMAN’ team tests Google Glass for combat use

Wed, 04/09/2014 - 16:22

The U.S. Air Force has been testing Google Glass to determine its usability on the battlefield.

The U.S. Air Force’s research team at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio has been-testing Google Glass for its potential use on the battlefield.

The “BATMAN” testing group, which stands for Battlefield Air Targeting Man-Aided Knowledge, currently has two pairs of glasses and says they are pleased with the results they have produced thus far, Business Insider reports.

Lt. Anthony Eastin, a behavioral scientist on the BATMAN team, believes that because Google Glass operates on “low power,” has a “low footprint,” and “sits totally above the eyes, and doesn’t block images or hinder vision” that the tech will work for myriad applications, including ground combat, search and rescue missions, vectoring aircraft to their targets, and more.

To accompany the new hardware, the research team is also building proprie

First Lieutenant Patrick Cook (Photo credit: Facebook)

In an open letter going viral around the Internet, 1st Lt. Patrick Cook who survived the recent mass shooting at Fort Hood argued that the tragedy was imminent because the base is a gun-free zone.

“My name is First Lieutenant Patrick Cook of the 49th Transportation Battalion, Fort Hood, Texas, and this past Wednesday I found myself trapped in an enclosed room with fourteen of my fellow Soldiers, one of whom was barricading the door against a madman with a .45 pistol when he was fatally shot,” his letter begins.

Cook goes one to detail the heroics of Sgt. 1st Class Daniel Ferguson, who saved Cook’s life as well as the other soldiers in the area by barricading a door with his body while the shooter, Spc. Ivan Lopez, was outside attempting to get in.

PWS Half Cocked episode four: ‘the Nut Pillow’ (VIDEO)

Wed, 04/09/2014 - 14:43

The Half Cocked crew at Primary Weapon Systems is really getting the show rolling with dick jokes and borderline alcoholism and good, bad, and slightly sexual ribbing — I said ribbing — being Primary Weapons’ primary themes. Just like at the office!

Every one of these makes me look forward to the next one.

FYI, a little birdie told me PWS is working on a new type of rifle that should make Stoner purists happy…

Looking forward to spending some time with that, too.
