There are a lot of useful bulletproof items in our modern world.  Cars, vests, glass…a jock strap.  Thats right, a bulletproof cup.  The guys over at Nutshellz are touting their new piece of bulletproof gear as the strongest cup ever made.

I remember fishing for bass in the marshes around Venice years ago with a good friend who spied a big bullfrog up along the shoreline. The amphibian either thought we were too far to cause it any harm or that we couldn’t see its green body in the green vegetation.

Grayson Shepard was looking for a species of fish that doesn’t belong in the Gulf of Mexico.

He got an up-close look at a species that belongs wherever it wants to belong.

Shepard and fellow divers Joe Kistel and  Alex Fogg had collected hundreds of invasive lionfish and shot video off Apalachicola, Fla., in preparation for Lionfish Removal and Awareness Day, according to the Website Think It Sink It Reef It.

The divers  said that while Shepard was conducting a safety check, a great white shark swam up to him briefly. A bag of speared lionfish in his hand, Shepard captured the encounter with his GoPro.

A wild boar smashed through the roof of a children’s clothing shop in Hong Kong. It was trapped inside and ran around the store, knocking over clothes and mannequins. According to the South China Morning Post, it was tranquilized by a vet and taken to an animal rehabilitation center.

A fisherman spearing off the coast of Florida who was confronted by a great white shark has released footage of the terrifying moment, which he couldn’t help but catch on camera.

TEMPLE, Texas – A Texas Game Warden investigation sparked by social media posts on Facebook detailing the killing of an 11-foot alligator has resulted in the arrests of two Killeen men.

Bobcats aren’t like your average house cat. These felines are about 40 pounds of tense, coiled muscle with razor-sharp claws and an inclination to give your face an extreme makeover if you get too close. As this hunter found out the hard way, a bobcat only lets itself seen when it wants to be seen.

“Craziest dam [sic] thing I’ve ever seen turkey huntin for sure!” wrote Bobby Greathouse, who uploaded the video to his Facebook page. “I’m just glad I didn’t squeal like a little school girl.”

A buddy of mine up in Minnesota sent me this video this weekend.  Check out this bear encounter, the cub’s curiosity got the best of him.  Lucky for the hunter, the mom stayed back.

Who could say no to perch for lunch? Obviously not this garter snake, who tried its best to make a sneaky getaway after stealing a fish from one very enthusiastic angler-in-training.

“My son caught a little perch, reeled it up to the shore and as it flopped around, it unhooked itself. As soon as that happened, a garter snake comes out of nowhere and grabs it!” Wrote Cindy Kruller on YouTube. “My son started screaming about a snake stealing his fish, so I grabbed my camera and filmed the chase. The snake ended up dropping the fish and we were able to get it back in the water.”

A bill to approve year-round hunting season on wild hogs passed out of a House committee Wednesday.

The bill is authored by Monroe Representative Katrina Jackson.  Jackson says the feral hog issue is becoming more pervasive for northeast Louisiana farmers.

Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Secretary Robert Barham testified of the severity of the problem during the committee hearing.  “We have the second largest hog problem in the country.  You have to kill about 70 percent of them to remain static,” said Barham.

Jackson developed the legislation with Ouachita Parish District Attorney Jerry Jones. The measure now goes to the full House for consideration.

Thought he was going to spool me more than once. 3 boats stopped to watch as the fight was going on. People cheered when we finally got him in the boat.

Looking much like a whale or dolphin tail, the DOL-fin monofin is designed for underwater speed demons and divers. It is an odd choice for spearfishermen, especially since it seems to come with a rather unique feature: it attracts dolphins.

Dolphins are highly inquisitive creatures and it doesn’t take much to capture their interest, but when this spearfisherman decided to hit the water with the strange fin on, the animals went wild.
